===========================================================================================
Congratulations on the purchase of your new Blue water3 SUP.
Once the SUP is inflated (to max 1 bar), you may note a slight bulge a few square cm in size behind the centre fin. This
slight bulge is a result of the valve on the top surface of the SUP and is caused by the drop-stitch construction of the
SUP. This construction involves rugged PVC top and bottom layers connected by thousands of vertical threads, which
creates a very strong structure. If an opening is required in one layer (the top layer for the valve in this case), the layers
cannot be connected by threads at this spot, with a bulge being the result. However, this is entirely normal and does not
affect the durability and quality of the SUP. We hope that you have a lot of fun with your SUP.
Instructions for use
Following purchase, it is very important that you leave the SUP fully inflated for a few days so that it can 'shape' itself. If
this is not done, the SUP may – under certain circumstances – not return to the right shape when inflated again at a later
stage. In doing this, place the SUP upside down and do not leave it resting on its fins.
Valve operation
Remove the valve cap. The valve is closed when the centre valve stem is in the up position.
Open the valve by placing your finger in the middle of the valve and pressing down on the valve stem. Use the
same finger for a quarter turn of the valve stem until it is locked in the down position.
Close the valve by pressing down on the valve stem and making a quarter turn until it unlocks and pops up.
Pump attachment
Attach the (threaded) pump outlet to the valve.
Turn clockwise to secure and start inflating.
Inflate the SUP to the desired pressure (generally between 14 and 20 PSI, or a maximum of 1 bar).
Once inflated, disconnect the pump.
Make sure that you replace the valve cap (to protect valve from dirt and damage).
Check the valve to make sure that there are no leaks.
Valve leaks
Find the valve tool in your repair kit.
Insert the valve tool into the valve and carefully turn clockwise. If necessary, hold the interior valve section from
the underside of the SUP. Carefully tighten without stripping/damaging the thread.
If this does not fix the leak, contact your nearest distributor and refer to your warranty.
Hold the interior valve section, turn the valve shaft anticlockwise and remove the valve shaft.
Check the valve for damage.
If the valve is damaged, it must be returned to the distributor. If necessary, you will receive a new valve.
Lubricate the valve shaft with silicon spray or a detergent solution to make it easier to re-insert.
Inflating the SUP
To extend the lifespan of your SUP, it is very important that it is correctly inflated and deflated.
Before inflating, remove any nearby sharp objects from the surface. Unroll and inflate the SUP.
Once you have unpacked the SUP, check that all parts are present.
Check whether the valve is closed. To do this, place your finger inside the valve, press in the small valve stem
and give it a quarter turn.
Unpack the supplied pump. Attach the pump to the SUP using the hose. Fix the outlet to the valve and turn
clockwise.
If necessary, attach the manometer/pressure gauge between pump and hose (threaded attachment).
Inflate the SUP until it has reached the desired pressure (generally between 14 and 20 PSI, or a maximum of 1
bar). Do not exceed this pressure under any circumstances!
Please note:
Over-inflation of the SUP can cause structural damage. If the SUP is on dry land, it should preferably not be exposed to
direct sunlight. The air inside the tubes can become heated to such an extent that air expansion can result in damage to
the SUP.
Do not under any circumstances inflate the SUP with a mechanical compressor. The supplied pump will ensure that the
SUP is inflated to the right pressure.
Deflating
REMARK: the SUP should be clean and dry before it is stored. Remove sand and grime from the SUP.
