4.3 FAST LOCK
4.3.1
The classic MOTOAIRBAG
seat belt reel, always keeps the cable taut, but without slipping. In the event of an impact or
slipping, FAST LOCK blocks the natural sliding of the cable and the airbag is activated by the
applied traction. FAST LOCK is equipped with an analogue Euler instability accelerometer
(MOTOAIRBAG® patent). 360 ° recognition in less than 5 thousandths of a second. In the rest
position, the FAST LOCK rewinds the cable completely to avoid discomfort

1. Check everywhere for signs of wear
2. Check the cable for signs of wear or breakage.
3. Make sure the straps attached to the inflators are not damaged.
4. Verify that the clamp connecting the front inflator is secure.
5. Verify that the cable is fully retracted.
6. While holding the FAST LOCK with one hand, quickly pull the carabiner and verify
that the cable snaps into place (like a seat belt in a car).
If the FAST LOCK fails the following tests, contact the MOTOAIRBAG
Service
4.3.3
1. Adjust so that the band connecting the FAST LOCK to the front gas generator is well stretched
(fig. 29-30-31)
2. Extend the FAST LOCK cable and connect the carabiner to the strap with the ring provided
(fig. 32).
3. Disconnect the carabiner when the motorcycle is stationary before leaving the motorcycle
(fig. 33).
4.3.4
In very rare cases, FAST LOCK can block the rear sliding of the cable during quick rewinding
of the cable. If so, do one of the following:
1. Pull the cable approximately 5 mm and then release it. (fig. 34)
2. Manually insert the cable into the FAST LOCK for 5 mm and release. The FAST LOCK
is unlocked.
