Important Information
This appliance is intended for domestic use only. Improper use, application or
insufficient cleaning and care can impair safety and result in danger for the

Safety advice
· Should this device be passed on to other people, make sure that these
operating instructions are handed to them along with it.
· Do not expose the mills to weather conditions.
· Do not touch the mills with wet or damp hands.
· Do not place any objects into the grinder.
· Do not press the function button for an extended period, allow the mills to
grind in interval steps.
Before the first use
· Read through the operating instructions and safety advice carefully first.
· Remove all packaging material and dispose of it properly.
· Wipe the outside with a soft cloth, slightly moistened if needed. Thoroughly
dry off afterwards.
Caution: Do not use any caustic liquids or abrasive cleaning agents.
· Hold the lower part in one hand and gently turn the upper part counter
clockwise up to the marking
· Insert batteries and fill the mills, then put the upper part back over the battery
compartment and push until it is placed completely over the lower part.
Then turn clockwise up to the marking
· The mills are now ready for use. Start grinding by pushing the button on top.
Inserting the batteries
· Open the mill as described above.
· Remove the plastic ring from the battery compartment. Insert 4 batteries
(AA 1.5 V) into the battery compartment, respecting the +/- markings. Put
the plastic ring back on.
· Note: cilio recommends the use of alkaline batteries to prolong the running
time and for a brighter light.
· Close the mill as described above.
Filling the mill
· Open the mill as described above.
· Remove the battery compartment with a light pull upwards. Fill the mill with
peppercorns, coarse salt, dried herbs or spices.
· Note: Do not fill completely, but leave a small space.
