4.- (Optional) Connect the audio sources to the TX Audio Input jack if you want to try an additional audio
extension
5.- (Optional) Connect the audio output device (for example, speaker or headphones) to the audio output
jack of the RX if you want to try an additional audio extension.
6.- (Optional) Connect RS232 devices if you want to use it.
7.- (Optional) Connect GbE-compatible Ethernet devices as needed to test the 1 Gig Ethernet ports of any
TX or RX unit.
8.- (Optional) Connect compatible IR emitter and receiver modules to the IR output connectors of any TX
or RX.
9.- Connect a 10G Ethernet cable (Cat-6a recommended) from the 10GbE port of each TX and RX unit
to any available 10GBaseT port.
10.- Connect the control PC to the GbE port of any HDMI-IP1800-TX/HDMI-IP1800-RX device or a Cat-x
port of the 10GbE switch (except the management/console port of the switch).
11.- The hardware configuration is now complete.
NOTE: any TX can also be connected directly to an RX without the 10GbE switch in between using to test
the point to point functionality.
NOTE: to test switching functionality through a 10 GbE switch you must use a 10 GbE layer 2 or layer 3
switch with IGMP snooping. Use the configuration software provided by the switch manufacturer to ensure
that the IGMP snooping is enabled and the transmission configuration is disabled.
MANAGEMENT TOOLS
There are 2 methods of control by PC: IPA MANAGER software and GUI. Both systems have the
same functionalities and the appearance of the interfaces is identical. Therefore, you can use the
software manual for both systems.
