4.Using the pump
A. Massage (Stimulation):
This feature stimulates the flow of breast milk. We recommend you using this option first and then switch to squeezing
mode. The massage mode mimics baby sucking, not too intensive, and stimulates the flow of milk. The suction mode also
mimics baby sucking, but is stronger than the first mode, in more frequent base and very efficiently.
Using the "+" and "-" buttons you can adjust the level you are most comfortable with for breast milk stimulation.. This
mode has 9 levels. Once breast milk starts flowing, switch to suction mode.
B. Suction:
Press the mode selection button and activate the suction function. Using the "+" and "-" buttons you can adjust the level
of squeezing that is most efficient and comfortable for you. This mode has 9 levels.
C. Combined function massage with suction:
You can also start with the combined function. Press the mode selection button to activate the combined function
massage with suction. This mode has 9 levels – 5 massage levels and 4 suction levels. You can adjust the levels with the
"+" and "-" buttons.
5. On average, you have to pump for 10-15 minutes to drain 180 ml of milk. Keep in mind that the amount of milk
varies from woman to woman.
6. Do not overfill the milk bottle to prevent milk from leaking out of the bottle.
7. When you stop using the pump, switch it off from the ON / OFF button. Then remove the tube from the back of the
pump body. Remove the pump body from the bottle. Close the bottle with the ring and the pacifier and place a cap on
top to keep it sterile.
8. Battery charge indicator:
• The battery charge indicator flashes when charging and stops when charging is complete.
•When the battery is low, the indicator starts flashing and the pump automatically switches off.
VII. WHEN TO USE YOUR BREAST PUMP
1. If it is possible. The use of the electric breast pump may begin usually two or four weeks after the birth of your baby.
There should be a period of breast milk secretion and breastfeeding before each use of the pump.
2. The electric pump is an apparatus, which helps postpartum women to ease the pain and to extend the breastfeeding
time. It uses the premise that there is sufficient milk and smooth mammary gland. For some women, which are mothers
for the first time, the mammary gland usually is not smooth enough. A reason sometimes can be the congenital nipple
inversion or milk water shortage. So, we suggest you before purchasing and using the pump, to consult with a doctor who
could confirm that your mammary gland is smooth and that the breast milk is in normal condition. Do not buy and use the
pump only as a device to unblock your milk ducts.
VIII. HINTS
1.It takes practice in order to use the breast pump the best possible way. So it will take you at least several attempts
before starting successfully to use the electric breast pump.
2.Choose a quiet time to use the pump – time, when no one will disturb you.
3.Sit in a comfortable chair, in a perpendicular position to the ground. Please, put a comfortable cushion behind your back
before you start using the breast pump. Take a glass of water and place it near you, because you may feel thirsty during
the pumping process.
4.Place a warm cloth on your breasts for a few minutes before starting to express the milk as this may facilitate the
process and relieve the tension in the breasts.
5.Warmth and relaxation can help for the easier pumping of the breast milk, so before using the pump, you might like to
take a bath or a shower.
6.Try expressing from one breast while your baby is feeding from the other, or continue expressing just after the feed.
7.Repositioning the pump on your breast from time to time can help stimulate the secretion. Practice in order to find the
best pumping technique for you. If the process is causing you breast pain, stop immediately and consult with a doctor at
once.
IX. HOW TO STORE THE BREAST MILK
1.Only breast milk that has been collected using a sterile breast pump can be stored to feed your baby.
