System Operation:
Fiber-optic distribution has as its head plant a traditional type of receiving system and thus antennas, dishes
and Wideband LNBs and any signal equalization and amplification stations; TV and Sat signals are sent to an
optical transmitter that transforms electrical signal variations into light signal variations, effectively adapting
the signals to be transferred remotely over fiber optics. Fiber is deputed to carry the signals. Whenever there
is a need to divide this signal into several lines on a par with traditional installations, a device called an op-
tical divider or optical splitter is used, which splits the signal into several optical transport lines without loss
of quality, albeit with calculated attenuation. Once in the vicinity of the unit to be served, the optical signal is
converted back into a traditional signal by the optical receivers on their outputs generate RF signals, which
are made available to the end user via traditional components (coaxial cables, multiswitches and demixed
sockets).
1.3 Product Installation
The RXFOT1DCSS receiver can be attached to the wall/wall using the slots built into the mechanics of the
product.
Space should be provided for proper ventilation of the product.
2. Grounding
Make the grounding connection
GROUNDING
of the device before powering it.
CONNECTION
This procedure is necessary
to avoid damageto the lasers.
3. Power supply
First connect the female Jack connector of the external power supply to the DC IN input of the RXFOT1DCSS
receiver, then connect the external power supply to the mains.
3.1 Optical fiber connection
CAUTION: A direct optical connection cannot be made between TXFOT1SWB and RXFOT1SWB/RXFOT-
1DCSS receivers.
This is only possible by using optical line attenuators since the maximum input power to the optical receivers
cannot exceed 3 dBm. Verify the optical signal level on the fiber using an optical meter before connecting it to
the receiver.Use SC/APC suspenders (item BSCAxxx) and adapter sleeves (item ASCAPC) to connect optical
equipment to the passive optical distribution.
Caution: to preserve and protect the contact surfaces of optical connectors, it is good practice to keep the
protective caps of sockets and ferules in place until connection or eventual cleaning using dedicated tools.
