• Do not touch the engine or the exhaust. These parts will be very hot during operation. They remain hot for some
time even after the engine is switched off.
• Do not let the engine run faster than necessary to cut. Do not let the engine run at high rotation if not in use.
• Always switch the equipment off if taking a break or moving to a different spot.
• In the event of abnormal vibrations, stop the engine immediately. Check whether the equipment displays any
visible damage. If it is damaged, please seek authorized technical support.
• If you find debris or if the equipment gets stuck in something, switch the engine off immediately and check it.
Never use the equipment with loose or damaged parts.
• Switch the engine off and disconnect the spark plug terminal before removing blockages or repairing the equipment.
• Only use Tramontina original replacement parts.
• Never use parts, accessories, or reels that have not been approved for this specific equipment. Failing to comply
with this recommendation might result in grave injuries to the operator and damage the equipment. You will
also void the equipment's warranty by doing so.
• Keep the equipment clean.
• All repairs must be exclusively executed by a Tramontina-authorized technical service.
Operation with the cutting knife
• Before starting to work with the equipment, read all safety guidelines carefully.
• The handlebar must always be kept between the operator and the cutting assembly.
• Never cut with the cutting knife 75 cm or more above the ground.
• The equipment may jolt if the rotating knife hits an object it cannot cut instantly. These jolts may be strong
enough to project the equipment and/or the operator in any direction. Jolts may occur without warning if the
cutting knife gets locked, stuck, or blocked. This could happen in areas where it is not possible to have a clear
enough view of the material to be cut.
• Do not use the cutting knife to cut anything thicker than 12.7 mm (1/2"). Otherwise, violent jolts can occur.
• Always use the guard mounted on the grass trimmer.
• Do not try to replace or lock the cutting knife while it is still rotating.
• A rotating blade may cause injury even after the engine has stopped or the throttle lever has been released.
Keep the equipment still until the cutting knife comes to a complete halt.
• Do not let the engine run at high rotation if it is not cutting anything.
• If you find debris or if the equipment gets stuck in something, switch the engine off immediately and check it
for damage. Service the equipment before using it again. Do not use the equipment with misshapen, warped,
cracked, or chipped blades.
• Do not sharpen the cutting knife. The tip of the sharp blade may break during use. This may cause grave injury.
Replace the cutting knife if it becomes blunt.
After using
• Clean the cutting knives with household detergent to eliminate all residues. Grease the cutting knives with lube
oil to protect them from rust.
• Store the cutting knives in a safe place to protect them against damage or unauthorized use.
