e) Do not use damaged or altered
batteries. Damaged or altered batter-
ies can be unpredictable and lead to
fi re, explosion or risk of injury.
f) Do not expose batteries to fi re
or elevated temperatures. Fire or
temperatures over 130 °C can cause
an explosion.
g) Follow all instructions for charg-
ing, and never charge the bat-
tery or the battery-powered
tool outside the temperature
range stated in the instruction
manual. Incorrect charging or charg-
ing outside the permitted temperature
range may destroy the battery and
increase the risk of fi re.
6) SERVICE
a) Have your power tool serviced
by a qualifi ed repair person us-
ing only identical replacement
parts. This will ensure that the safety
of the power tool is maintained.
b) Never repair damaged bat-
teries. All battery repairs should be
carried out by the manufacturer or au-
thorised customer service centres only.
Additional safety instructions
a) Keep all parts of the body away from
the blades. Do not attempt to remove
cuttings or hold clippings while the
blades are moving. A moment of care-
lessness during use can result in serious
injury.
b) Carry the pruning shears by the handle
with the blade stopped and be careful
not to operate a switch.
c) Always fi t the blade guard when trans-
porting or storing the pruning shears.
d) When removing trapped material or
servicing the device, ensure that all
power switches are turned off and the
battery is removed or disconnected.
e) Only handle the pruning shears by the
insulated grip surfaces as the blade
may touch hidden power lines.
f) Keep all power cords and cables away
from the cutting area.
g) Do not use the pruning shears in bad
weather, especially when there is a risk
of lightning.
h) Inspect the hedges and shrubs carefully
and remove any wire fencing, hidden
wiring; or other foreign objects.
i) Hold the pruning shears by the handle
with one hand. Keep your second hand
away from the blade.
j) Use the device at ground level, or
when standing on a ladder or on a sur-
face that is not stable.
k) Children or persons with reduced phys-
ical, sensory or mental capabilities or
insuffi cient experience and knowledge
or persons who are not familiar with
the instructions must never be allowed
to use the machine. Local regulations
may specify an age limit for the user.

Never use the device if people, espe-
cially children, or pets are nearby.
m) Warning! Ensure that you do not touch
any of the dangerous moving parts
before you have removed the recharge-
able battery and that the dangerous
moving parts have come to a complete
standstill.
n) Do not stretch too far and keep your
balance at all times, even on slopes.
Always be surefooted and walk, do not
run when using the device.
o) Always wear sturdy shoes and long
trousers when operating the machine.
