5.5. Setting addresses (Fig. 5-5)
(Be sure to operate with the main power turned OFF.)
• There are two types of rotary switch setting available: setting addresses 1 to 9
and over 10, and setting branch numbers.
1 How to set addresses
Example: If Address is "3", remain SW12 (for over 10) at "0", and match SW11
(for 1 to 9) with "3".
2 How to set branch numbers SW14 (Series R2 only)
Match the indoor unit's refrigerant pipe with the BC controller's end connection
number.
Remain other than series R2 at "0".
• The rotary switches are all set to "0" when shipped from the factory. These
switches can be used to set unit addresses and branch numbers at will.
• The determination of indoor unit addresses varies with the system at site. Set
them referring to the Data Book.
5.6. Sensing room temperature with the built-in
sensor in a remote controller
If you want to sense room temperature with the built-in sensor in a remote
controller, set SW1-1 on the control board to "ON". The setting of SW1-7 and
SW1-8 as necessary also makes it possible to adjust the air flow at a time when
the heating thermometer is OFF.
5.7. Error signal input
For the TPKFYP∙BM142 model, it is possible to change the operation of the
indoor unit to an error state by inputting an error signal.
1 Error signal input method (Fig. 5-6)
• Remove the room temperature thermistor TH21 from the indoor control board,
and connect the cable 8 (junction cable) supplied with the product.
• Replace the room temperature thermistor TH21 on the junction cable side.
• Connect an error signal (non-voltage a contact input) to the error signal input
cable (A).
• Store the junction cable inside the electrical parts box.
2 Significance of error signal
Configure the error signal so that it is set as follows.
• Non-voltage a contact input
• When normal: Error signal OFF (contact OFF)
• When error:
Error signal ON (contact ON)
3 Indoor unit operation when error signal input (Fig. 5-7)
• The error signal is only enabled during indoor unit operation.
• When error signal ON
When the error signal is detected to be ON, the operation state of the indoor unit
changes to thermostat OFF, and the supply of refrigerant to the indoor unit is
shut off.
An error is detected after the error signal ON state continues for approximately 3
minutes, and the error code 5101 is displayed on the remote controller.
• When the error signal is changed from ON to OFF
In the case of before error detection, normal operation is restored after
approximately 3 minutes.
In the case of after error detection, the error state continues until the error
is cancelled with the remote controller or the like. (The error is not cancelled
automatically when the error signal is changed to OFF.)
4 Restrictions
• The maximum length of the error signal input cable is 3 m (9.8 ft).
An extension cannot be connected.
• Do not apply a voltage to the error signal input cable.
Only non-voltage a contact input is supported.
