Important Safety Instructions
The following safety instructions must be followed in all cases to reduce the risk of electric
shock, injuries and fire. Carefully read all safety instructions before using the appliance and
keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference.
1. This product must be used only for its prescribed purpose and in accordance with these
operating instructions.
2. Keep children under 3 years of age away from the appliance, unless they are being
constantly supervised.
3. Do not allow children between the ages of 3 and 8 years to switch the appliance on
and/or off unless they are being supervised or they have been instructed regarding the safe
use of the appliance and they understand the resulting risks, and provided that the
appliance has been placed or installed in its normal operating position.
4. Do not allow children between the ages of 3 and 8 years to plug the power cord into the
socket, to regulate the appliance, to clean the appliance and/or to perform maintenance on
it.
5. Do not carry the appliance by its cable. Do not disconnect the appliance from the mains
socket by pulling the cable.
6. Never use the appliance if the mains cord or the appliance itself are damaged. All
necessary repairs must be performed by a qualified electrician. 7. If the appliance has failed
or is malfunctioning, turn it off immediately, unplug the power cord and do not use the
appliance any more. Get professional help to determine the cause.
8. Turn off the power and unplug the power cord when the appliance is not in use, or before
cleaning it or changing accessories.
9. Do not place the appliance where the cable can become jammed or damaged.
10. Keep the appliance and the cable away from sharp objects, heat sources and other
dangerous objects.
11. Before inserting the plug into the mains socket, make sure that the appliance is switched
off.
12. Be careful: some surfaces of the appliance can become very hot during operation.
Supervise others accordingly.
13. Electrical equipment must always be kept in a safe place and out of reach of children.
14. The appliance must not be used by children or disabled persons without appropriate
supervision. Small children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the
appliance.
15. To avoid electric shock, never allow the appliance, the cable or the plug to come into
contact with water or other liquids.
16. Never touch the appliance after it has fallen into water. Switch off the power supply and
disconnect the mains plug. Do not use the appliance again until it has been tested and
approved by a qualified electrician.
17. Before operating the appliance or activating a switch or touching the plug or other
power connections, always make sure that your hands are dry.
18. Never leave the appliance unattended as soon as it has been connected to the mains
supply.
19. Keep all vents, filters, etc. uncovered and free of debris. Do not insert any objects into
the appliance vents.
20. Never set up the appliance beneath a power socket.
