6.- DEVICE CONTROL
This version of the COFDM-QAM enables
computer configuring and monitoring, both
locally and remotely.
a.- Local control
You will need availability of the "Headend
Management" Program (v2.12 or better) and
a special cable (supplied with the reference
program) connecting a PC serial port with
the "PRGM" connector of the COFDM-
QAM.
The program will enable the configuring and
reading of all the operating parameters, as
well as the monitoring of proper device
functioning.
NIT Handling process management is also
carried out through the CDC program.
b.- Remote control
You must have a headend management
control module (ref. 5051 or 5052) version
2.03 or higher, that includes the above men-
tioned programme, the aforementioned pro-
gram, plus the corresponding phone line-
connected modem.
Once communication has been established
with headend control, you may access all
the controllable devices that have been ins-
talled in the headend. In this case, it is indis-
pensable for each of the items to be pro-
grammed with a different device address
(RS485 addressing) ranging from 1 to 254.
