Dear record lover
Please read these
instructions carefully
before
you
start
using
your
Dual
so
that
you will
not
encounter
any
problems resulting from
faulty
connections
or
handling.
Fold
out
page 2.
Setting up the unit
Remove
the
packing material
between
the
turntable
and
chassis, also
between
the
rear
of
the
tonearm and
the
chassis
and
release
the
cylindrical
screw
from
the
chassis
plate.
Turn
the
two
securing screws
clockwise
until
they
slide
about
1.5 cm
down,
and tighten
them
with further
clockwise
turns.
This
secures
the
chassis
in
spring-mounted
playing
position
(Fig.
1
B).
Setting up the loudspeaker
For
optimum
stereo reproduction,
the
pair
of
speakers
should
be
positioned side
by
side
approximately
the
same
distance
between
them and
the
listener
as shown
on
the
illustration.
The
cases
are finished
on all
four
sides,
allowing
them
to
be placed either vertically
or
horizontally,
or they
can be
wallmounted.
The
cable
connections are
recessed,
allowing
the
cases
to
be hung
flush
to
the
wall.
Felt
tips
are enclosed
for
placing on
furniture.
The
Dual
emblem
can be turned around.
Holes
are
drilled
on
the
back
panel
so
that
the
speaker
can
be
wall
mounted.
See enclosed
mounting instructions,

Quadro
Reproduction
The Dual
HiFi
loudspeaker
boxes
are
equip-
ped
with
special dome-type
speakers
which
radiate the high frequencies over
a
wide
range.
Therefore the
arrangement
of
the
speakers
is
independent
of
the
listeners' positions. Ad-
justment
to
suit
the
room
acoustics
can
be
obtained
with
the "Balance" control.
Connection
to
power
supply
The
unit
operates
on 50
or 60
Hz,
1
1
0,
1
50 or
22O
V AC
(after readjusting the power fuse
on
130,
150
or 240 Volts)
and
is usually
set
for
22O
Volts
5O
Hz.
Before connecting the
unit,
make certain you
knowwhatvoltageyou
have.
The
unit
is adap-
ted
for
other
voltages
by
re-soldering jumpers
at
the
power
transformer
as
described
on
Fig,
4.
lf
it
requires
an
adjustment,
the
voltage
sta-
ted on
the data plate should
be
corrected
at
the
same
time
using
the
enclosed plates.
For
voltages
13O
or
24O,
fuse
0,630

should
be used

Before transporting
the
unit, simply
loosen
the
screws
with
counter-clockwise
turns,
lift
them up
and continue tightening them
co-
unter-clockwise.
The technical data
of
the pick-up cartridge
is
to
be
found on
a
separate
information
sheet
enclosed
to
these
instructions.
Note:
After
each
transport
of
the
Dual,
it
should
be
started
once
with
its
tonearm
locked. Just
move
the
operating
switch to
"start". This
is
to
ensure
that the
shut-off
mechanism
will
be
in
the
correct
position.
The
cover protects
the
unit

For
use

(see enclosed
sheet)
.
Loudspeaker connections
The
speakers
supplied
with
your HiFi

compact system are connected
to
the
back

standard
receptacles
(DlN

the
cables

Right
(

and
left

as
seen
by
the

istener.
For
quadrophonic reproduction,
two further
speakers
should
be
connected
to
the
receptac-
les
marked REAR.
For
this
purpose
we
recommend Dual
CL

These
cables
are
12

and
can readily
be
shortened.
In
special
cases
where
the
standard length
will not
reach,
the

39
feet
long),
