Please read the instructions thoroughly and in their entirety before using the product for the first
time. Keep these instructions for future reference. Should you pass the product on in future, ensure
that you also include these instructions.

Never make modifications to the product! Modifications will invalidate the warranty and the
product may become unsafe or, in the worst-case scenario, dangerous.
GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
• WARNING! Read all the safety information and instructions. Failure to follow the safety
information and instructions may cause electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
• Ensure that water cannot get inside the device. Never immerse the device in water or other
liquids. Never expose it to rain.
• Do not use the device if the mains plug, mains cable or any other part of the device is defective
or damaged.
• Do not use any electrical devices in potentially explosive environments (e.g. in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust). Electrical devices produce sparks that can ignite dust or
exhaust fumes.
• Do not place any objects on the lid or keep the sensor bin under a surface that is too low (e.g.
kitchen worktop). The lid must always be able to open fully. Not following these instructions
may result in damage.
• Position the sensor bin so that the sensor is not exposed to direct sunlight (see diagram 6).
SAFETY INFORMATION ABOUT BATTERIES
• Always use a suitable USB adapter.
• When the batteries are not in use, they must be kept away from other metal objects such as
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small metal items, which have the potential to
