This brake piston removal kit is suitable for nearly all brands with pistons that come with an internal
diameter of 19 to 30 mm. This removal kit allows an easy and convenient brake piston removal and
works on stuck pistons, also.
Safety advice
1. Brake systems should be serviced and maintained by qualified personnel, only!
2. Follow all instruction given in specific servicing handbooks.
3. Fit in the piston with an adequate lubricant, only. Rust removers and other greases might
damage the sealing and lead to a total brake system failure.
4. Do nut use pistons or cylinders that show signs of wear or damage.
5. Brake pads must be replaced and brake disks must be checked for cracks and signs of wear
after the repair of stuck pistons.
Instruction
1. Chose a suitable spread element. Included in delivery are 12 elements sized as follows:
19 – 20 – 21 – 22 – 23 – 24 – 25 – 26 – 27 – 28 – 29 und 30 mm.
2. Remove the spread cone from the spread unit.
3. Attach the suitable spread element to the spread unit (spread slits must face away from the
spread unit). Mount the spread cone onto the unit, facing the spread slits of the spread
elements.
4. Slide the spread unit into the brake piston and temper it by turning the T-bar knob.
5. Now, the brake piston can be disassembled with the spread unit.
6. When trying to loosen stuck piston you may want to use the gliding hammer. Therefore just
screw the hammer on the spread unit. The brake caliper has to be clamped in a vice.
CAUTION: Be careful when clamping the brake caliper. Excessive force can harm the brake
caliper and damage it.
