8. Care and maintenance

8.1 Cleaning and drying

Clean the parts of the appliance only with a clean, soft
cloth. Moisten the cloth with pure alcohol or a little water
if necessary.

-CAUTION-
Do not use any other liquids as these may affect the plas-
tic parts.
8.2 Storage
Do not store the appliance when it is wet.
Dry and clean the appliance, its case and accessories
before storing.
Remove the batteries before storing.
After storing for a long period of time, carry out a mea-
surement check before use.
Observe the temperature limits when storing the appli-
ance (–20 °C to +60 °C or –4 °F to +158 °F), especially
in winter and summer and when storing it in a vehicle.

9. Troubleshooting

Fault
The monitor or the scanner
doesn't switch on.
The monitor or the scanner can
be operated only for a short time
before the battery is exhausted.
The scanner doesn't move
smoothly.

8.3 Transport
Use the original Hilti toolbox for transporting the appli-
ance.
-WARNING-
Always remove the batteries before transporting the appli-
ance.
8.4 Removing the scanner wheels
The scanner wheels can be removed either for cleaning
or replacement. Using a 2.5 mm Allen wrench, loosen
and remove the screw at the center of each wheel.
Gently withdraw the wheel from the axle whilst holding
the other end of the axle or wheel. If required, carefully
clean the housing or wheel in accordance with section
8.1 above before refitting it on the axle and replacing the
screw.
-CAUTION-
Do not overtighten the screw when refitting the wheel
as this may result in damage to the wheel and axle.
Replace only one wheel at a time.
Possible cause
The battery is not charged.
Contacts on the battery or in the
monitor/scanner are dirty.
The battery is old or defective, or
the maximum number of charging
cycles has been exceeded.

The wheels are dirty or dusty.
The drive belt or gear teeth are
worn.
Remedy
Charge or change the battery.
