Counterbalancing of the tone arm
Adjustment of tracking and antiskating force
1, m as
adjustment knob 7 is tumed counterclockwise
ig. 3).
2. The tracking force adjustment knob 4 is set to "O".
3. The tone arm counterbalancing weight 3 is removed from the
packaging and slid over the tone arm in such a way that the visible
bronze spring is situated under the flat surface of the tone arm tube.
Beyond a distance of about 15 mm, a resistance to further motion
can be felt. From this point onward, the knurled knob is turned with
a slight pressure (fig. 4).
4. The power switch 16 is depressed. Operational stand-by is indica-
ted by the light-emitting diode in push-button 15. The cueing lift
lever 5 is swung forward, if necessary. The stylus guard 12 is
removed.
5. The tone arm is now swung into the zone between the turntable
edge and tone arm support. After about 5 s, the tone arm lowers
automatically.
6. The tone arm counterbalance 3 is turned forward or backward by
means of the knurled knob, until the tone arm floats freely in a
precisely horizontal position.
The tone arm is returned to its support and locked in place.
. The tracking force specified for the built-in pick-up system Is set by
rotating the scale 4 as required. The tracking force for the cartridge
OMB 20E, supplied as standard equipment, is 12.5 mN.
Attention! If the unit is equipped with a different cartridge, the
required tracking force is specified on the data sheet for the
cartridge concerned.
For the antiskating adjustment 7, the appropriate value is set in
accordance with the following table:
