Audio Inputs/Outputs
Rear Panel
To hear sound coming from your own pair of external speakers, connect the
computer to the monitor as shown in the illustration below:
1 Connect the audio cable from the computer's sound card OUT jack into
the two audio RCA IN jacks (right and left) on the rear panel of the
ViewSonic® EA771/EA771B (#1 and #2 on the diagram below).
2 Connect the microphone* from the OUT jack on the rear panel of the
EA771/EA771B into the microphone IN jack located on the computer's
sound card (#3 on the diagram below).

To use headphones, plug the headphone jack into the stereo mini jack on the
left side of the monitor. (The audio of the speakers will automatically be
muted when you do this)
*Macintoshsystems equipped with PlainTalk™ require a microphone adapter. To order your
adapter, contact ViewSonic Customer Support. See Chapter 4 on Troubleshooting for a
telephone number in your area.
