Safety information

Do not install this device near pacemakers, hearing aids, or medical devices in general, as this may cause
interference with the proper functioning of these devices.
This device operates using a radio signal: no mobile operator can guarantee a connection at any time. For
this reason, it cannot be used in life support systems.

Installation
In order to safeguard safety, operator's safety, and proper operation of the device, the SMSB-M21T-3G device
must be installed only and exclusively by qualified personnel.
The following rules must also be observed.
Environmental conditions
The SMSB-M21T-3G device (the device and all cables connected to it) must be installed in places without, or
far from:
Dust, humidity, high heat
Direct exposure to sunlight
Objects that radiate heat
Objects producing a strong electromagnetic field
Corrosive liquids or chemicals
Degree of Protection
When installing the SMSB-M21T-3G device, the following degree of protection must be guaranteed:
IP54: degree of protection to be guaranteed when used in outdoor applications.
Power supply
Observe the following standards:
Do not use cables longer than 3m
The external power supply unit must comply with EN 60950 (electrical safety)
The device must be powered by a power source limited to 24VA
Digital inputs
Observe the following standards:
Do not use cables longer than 3m
Do not install the cables in the vicinity of possible electromagnetic fields; in this case, use shielded cables.
Connect the input contact (as shown in the installation diagram) to contactors, contactors and/or electro-
mechanical switches, in the absence of electrical potential (dry contact) or connected to a voltage referred
to the supply ground between 3÷30V⎓ (voltage contact).
The input can be configured as either a dry contact or a voltage contact using the supplied programming
software.
