Please review t he following recommendations
foroptimum m ulching performance.
1) Avoid m owing when t he grass i swet f rom
rain ordew.Wet grass may form clumps
which i nterfere with the mulching action
and reduce runtime.
The best time tomow grass isinthe late
afternoon
when t he grass i sdry and the
newly c ut a rea w illnot b eexposed to
direct sunlight.
2) For b est mulching performance,
set
the cutting h eight toremove about one
third ofthe grass b lade l ength, ideally
nomore than 1-1/2" atonetime. Ifthe
lawn isovergrown,
itmay benecessary
toincrease the cutheight toreduce the
pushing effort and prevent overloading
themotor. For e xtremely heavy mulching,
itisadvisable
tofirst c utatahigh cut
height setting, and then re-cut tothe final
cutheight. Otherwise,
make n arrower cuts
and mow slowly.
3) For b est performance,
keep t he mower
housing free ofbuilt-up grass. From time
totime turn offmower and wait f orthe
blade t ocome t oacomplete
stop.Then
unplug thesafety key and turn mower on
itsside. Using a nobject such a s astick,
wipe out a ny accumulation
ofgrass i nthe
blade a rea. Be careful ofthe sharp e dges
ofthe blade. Clean often i nwet, n ew
grass, and always after e very use.
4) Certain types o fgrass orgrass conditions
may require that a narea bemulched a
second time tofullydisperse the grass
throughout
thelawn.
ifcutting a second time, itisadvisable
tocutperpendicular
(across) the first c ut
pattern. DO NOT C HANGE
CUT PATTERN
IN ANY WAY
THATWOULD
CAUSE MOWING
DOWN A
HILL.
5) Change your c utting p attern from week t o

SHARPI:NING
KEEP BLADE SHARP FOR BEST MOWER
PERFORMANCE.
A DULL BLADE DOES NOT
CUT GRASS CLEANLY OR MULCH PROPERLY.
WEAR PROPER EYE PROTECTION WHILE
REMOVING, SHARPENING,
AND INSTALLING
BLADE. ENSURETHAT
SAFETY KEY IS
REMOVED.
Sharpening
the blade twice during a mowing
season is usually sufficient
under normal
circumstances.
Sand causes the blade to dull
quickly, if your lawn has sandy soil, more
frequent
sharpening
may be required.
REPLACE BENT OR DAMAGED
BLADE
IMMEDIATELY.
