Air quality sensor
The air quality sensor that controls the unit in automatic mode may be adjusted
to increase or decrease sensitivity. The sensor switch is accessible when the
front panel is removed. There are three settings: low, medium and high. Setting
the switch to HIGH will make the device more sensitive (reactive to a low
concentration of air contaminants). A setting of LOW reduces the sensitity so
that in automatic mode the KenkoAir Purifier
particle concentration is high.
It will take approximately 10-45 minutes for the KenkoAir Purifier™ to calibrate
during initial activation. The same 10-45 minutes is required for recalibration
when the unit is unplugged and replugged. Also, expect to see the air quality
sensor at "red" for an average of 10-35 minutes when any aerosol sprays are
detected (chemical, perfume, cleaners, etc.). If you turn the unit off and back on
(but do not unplug it), allow approximately five minutes for recalibration.
