5. COMMISSIONING
5.1. INSTALLATION VERIFICATION
Once the safety points of the installation have been verifi ed, and the electrical connection has been made:
• Switch to AUTO mode; Verify that only the green indicator (PDS CONTROL OK) is lit. In case of FAULT, damper opening,
smoke detection or fan start, check the previous points.
• Switch to mode ON-MIN; verify that PDS CONTROL OK indicator lights up and DAMPER OPEN starts fl ashing. After
35s, the FAN ON indicator will be lit, meaning fan start-up. In less than 60s, the DAMPER OPEN indicator shall stop
fl ashing and stay lit, meaning the damper is fully open. Verify it is fully open. For MD2 versions, check both dampers
open simultaneously.
• Verify that that the rotation direction of the impeller is correct and that there are no abnormal vibrations on the fan. In
the event that the impeller rotates in the opposite direction, a phase must be properly reversed.
• If any of the electrical protection devices of the installation are triggered, disconnect the unit from the mains supply
and check the installation before setting it back into operation.
• If the smoke sensor is activated without there being smoke present, proceed to cleaning it.
• In the DUAL version, repeat the previous steps for the standby fan.
• Return the unit the AUTO position and check it responds to a fi re signal. Verify that PDS CONTROL OK indicator lights
up and DAMPER OPEN starts fl ashing. After 35s, the FAN ON indicator will be lit, meaning fan start-up. In less than
60s, the DAMPER OPEN indicator shall stop fl ashing and stay lit, meaning the damper is fully open. Verify it is fully
open. For MD2 versions, check both dampers open simultaneously. Once this is checked, stop de fi re signal and switch
to the OFF position to RESET the unit.
5.2. TDP-D SENSOR SET UP
The TDP-D is an electronic pressure transducer initially designed to measure total and differential air pressures in
ventilation systems.
It comes pre-set by default, but it should be revised and zeroed, following the descriptions below.
5.2.1. Revision
Before the zeroing, verify that the pressure range for operation, and the type of output signal to the VSD, are correct.
The pressure range shall be 0-100Pa, "pressure" should be displayed in the screen, and the output signal shall be
4-20mA.
Following the description in fi gures Fig. 4, open the cover, and press the " ", " " or "OK" buttons on the back once.
Press " " or " " to change the measurement range to 0 ..+100Pa. The selected range fl ashes on the screen until it is
memorized by pressing the "OK" button. If the button is not pressed again within the next 60 seconds, the display reverts
to the current measured value.
Verify that the SW1 micro-switches, framed in Fig. 4 with a dotted line, are in the following positions:
• DIP3 OFF (display pressure)
• DIP2 OFF (damping 0.4 sec)
• DIP1 ON (4-20mA)
5.2.2. Zeroing
The transducer can be calibrated after it has been mounted and the power supply connected (the latter will light the
green LED). Before calibration, it is important to ensure that the pressure at the + and - connectors is the same (for
example by stopping the fan). If a pressure differential greater than 10Pa is shown on screen, this could be caused by
an unexpected pressure within the system (drafts or obstructed tube). It is recommended that the external tubes of the
PDS CONTROL be disconnected from the + and - connectors during calibration.
For zeroing, press switch SW3, integrated in the electronic board (see Fig. 4), then the yellow LED will fl ash until cali-
bration has been completed.
