IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
General
Read this instruction manual carefully before using the appliance and keep it for future
reference. If you give this product to another person, please also make sure that you
give them this instruction manual.
1. Use the appliance only for its intended purpose. Improper use may result in an electric
shock, fire or serious injury and may void the warranty.
2. Neither Westinghouse nor the dealer can accept any liability for damage to the
appliance or personal injury resulting from failure to observe the correct electrical
connection procedures, improper use or incorrect operation.
3. This appliance is for household use only. It is not suitable for commercial, industrial,
or outdoor use.
4. Only use the appliance to make filter coffee.
5. This appliance is intended to be used in households and similar applications such as:
- Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments.
- Farmhouses.
- Hotels, motels, and other residential type environments.
- Bed and breakfast type environments.
6. DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Do not immerse the coffee maker, power cord or plug
in water or any other liquids. Never place electrical parts of the appliance under
running water (see CLEANING AND CARE).
7. This appliance can be used by children aged from eight years and above and by
persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental abilities, or lack of experience
or knowledge, if they are properly supervised or instructedhow to use the appliance
in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning, operating, maintenance
or connecting the appliance to the power supply should not be made by children
under the age of eight.
8. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF BABIES AND CHILDREN Coffee can remain hot for a considerable
time after brewing and can be a scald hazard. Keep the coffee maker and power cord
out of the reach of children (under the age of 8).
9. This appliance is not a toy. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.
10. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by or near children.
11. Ensure that the water is not filled above the maximum mark (MAX 1.25 L / 42 oz) on
the appliance.
