2-3.3 MICROPHONE REQUIREMENTS.
Use a microphone with a flat frequency response.
The microphone should have a cardiod pattern to
reduce pickup from the back and sides. Connect
the microphone as illustrated in figure 2-3, using a
Drake # 329-1055 connector. The use of a pre-
amplified microphone is not recommended, dueto
the possibility of overdriving the input audio stages
of the TR-7. The Drake Model 7 07 3 DM micro-
phone is ideally suited for mobile use with the
TR-7 .

2-3.4. EXTERNAL SPEAKER REQUIREMENTS .
The TR-7 has a built-in speaker. In high noise en-
vironments, however, it may be desirable to em-
ploy an externa! speaker located close to th e oper-
ator. Use of an externa! speaker automatically dis-
ables the interna! speaker.
