Warning !
Risk of severe injuries.
Always wear safety goggles.
¾
Use flexible underlays if these are supplied with
the abrasive and when they are required.
Observe the instructions of the tool or accessory
manufacturer! Protect the wheels and discs from
grease and run-out!
Grinding wheels must be stored and handled
carefully according to the manufacturer's instruc-
tions.
Never use cut-off wheels for roughing!
Cut-off wheels must not be exposed to lateral
pressure.
The workpiece must be resting on a stable sur-
face and secured to prevent slipping, e.g. using
clamping devices.
Large workpieces must be adequately supported.
If attachments with threaded insert are used, the
end of the spindle must not touch the bottom
of the hole in the grinding tool. Ensure that the
thread in the attachment is long enough to take
the length of the spindle.
The thread in the attachment must match the
thread of the spindle. Spindle length and spindle
thread, see Technical data.
During machining, particularly of metals,
conductive dust can become deposited inside
the machine. This can result in electrical energy
being transmitted to the machine housing. This
can pose a transient risk of electric shock. It is
therefore necessary to regularly, frequently and
thoroughly blow out the machine with com-
pressed air through the rear ventilation slots with
the machine running. Hold the machine firmly
while blowing out.
We recommend the installation of a stationary
extractor system and a residual-current circuit
breaker (RCCB). If the angle grinder is cut out by
the RCCB, the machine must be inspected and
cleaned.
Dusts from materials such as lead-based coat-
ings, some wood species, minerals and metals
can be harmful to health.
Further safety instructions
• Touching or inhaling the dusts can lead to aller-
gic reactions and/or respiratory disorders in the
user or in persons in the vicinity.
Certain dusts such as oak or beech dust are
considered to be carcinogenic, particularly in
combination with additives for wood preservation
(chromate, wood preservatives).
• Touching or inhaling the dusts can lead to aller-
gic reactions and/or respiratory disorders in the
user or in persons in the vicinity.
Materials containing asbestos may only be
machined by qualified persons.
Use a dust extractor, if possible.
Ensure good ventilation of the place of work.
We recommend the wearing of a respirator with
filter class P2.
Observe the applicable regulations in your
country for the materials to be machined.
Materials which emit health-endangering dusts
or vapours (e.g. asbestos) during machining must
not be machined.
Ensure that the ventilation openings remain free
when working in dusty conditions.
Should it become necessary to remove the dust,
first disconnect the electric tool from the electricity
supply network (use non-metallic objects) and
avoid damaging internal parts.
Damaged or vibrating tools or tools with run-out
must not be used.
Avoid damage to gas or water pipes, electric
cables and load-bearing walls (statics).
When using the machine outdoors:
Install a residual-current circuit breaker with max.
release current (30 mA)!
Pull the plug out of the plug socket before car-
rying out any adjustments, retooling or mainte-
nance.
Replace a damaged or cracked auxiliary handle.
Do not operate the machine with a defective
auxiliary handle.
Replace a damaged or cracked safety hood. Do
not operate the machine with a defective safety
hood.
This electric tool is not intended for polishing. The
warranty will be voided if the device is used for
other than its intended purpose. The motor can
overheat and the electric tool can be damaged.
We recommend the use of our angle polishers
for polishing work.
