WARNING: When using electric gardening
appliances, basic safety precautions should
always be followed to reduce the risk of fi re,
electric shock, and personal injury, including the
following:
WARNING – To reduce the risk of fire, electric
shock, or injury:
1) Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
2) Do not allow to be used as a toy. Close
attention is necessary when used by or near
children.
3) Use only as described in this manual.
Use only manufacturer's recommended
attachments.
4) Do not use with damaged cord or plug. If
appliance is not working as it should, has
been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or
dropped into water, return it to a service
center.
5) Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a
handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord
around sharp edges or corners. Do not run
appliance over cord. Keep cord away from
heated surfaces.
6) Do not handle plug or appliance with wet
hands.
7) Do not put any object into openings. Do not
use with any opening blocked; keep free of
dust, lint, hair, and anything that may reduce
air flow. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers,
and all parts of body away from openings and
moving parts.

8) Turn off all controls before unplugging.
9) Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
10) Do not use to pick up flammable or
combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or use
in areas where they may be present.
For a vacuum cleaner:
"Do not pick up anything that is burning or
smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot
ashes."
"Do not use without dust bag and/or filters in
place."
The machine is never allowed to be used when
there are people – particularly children – or pets
nearby.
FOR ALL APPLIANCES
•
Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the
power switch is in the off-position before
connecting to battery pack, picking up
or carrying the appliance. Carrying the
appliance with your finger on the power
switch or energizing the appliance that has
the power switch on invites accidents.
•
Make sure the power switch is off and the
battery pack is removed before clearing
jammed material, making adjustments,
changing accessories, storing or servicing
the appliance. Unexpected actuation of the
appliance while clearing jammed material or
servicing may result in serious personal injury.
•
Avoid dangerous environments - do not use
appliances in damp or wet locations.
•
Don't use in rain.
•
Keep children away - all people and pets
should be kept at a distance from the work
area.
•
Dress properly - do not wear loose clothing or
jewelry. They can be caught in moving parts.
Wear protective clothing; use of work gloves,
long pants, a long sleeved shirt and safety
footwear is recommended when working
outdoors. Wear protective hair covering to
contain long hair.
•
Use safety glasses - always use face or dust
mask if the area in which you are working is
dusty. The purpose of the safety rules is to
attract your attention to possible dangers.
The safety symbols and the explanations
with them, require your careful attention and
understanding. The safety warnings do not
by themselves eliminate any danger. The
instruction or warnings they give are not
