Original instructions
1. Specified Conditions of Use
The guide rails permit precise, splinter-free sawing
of planks and boards with the following Metabo
hand-held circular saws and Metabo plunge-type
saws:
KS 55 FS, KSE 55 Vario Plus, KS 66 Plus,
KSE 68 Plus, KS 18 LTX 57, KS 18 LTX 66 BL,
KS 66 BL, KS 66 FS, KS 85 FS.
If appropriate accessories are used, the following
Metabo machines can also be used:
Metabo hand-held circular saws: KS 54, KS 54 SP,
KSE 55 Plus, KS 66, KSE 68 Plus, KSA 18 LTX,
KSAP 18, CED 125 Plus.
Various circular saws of the following
manufacturers are compatible with this guide rail:
Bosch, Festool, Hilti, Hitachi, Makita.
2. Circular saws with guide
groove
2.1
Clamping guide rail
See page 2, fig. A.
Using the C-clamp (FSZ) 6.31031 and the quick-
action clamp (FSSZ) 6.29021, the guide rail can be
secured on the workpiece for safe working and
protection from slipping. The C-clamps are pushed
onto both sides of the guide rail into the T-slot (1).
2.2
Attaching the machine
Descriptions for machines with a groove (2) in the
circular saw guide plate:
See page 2, fig. B.
- Mount the circular saw as shown on the guide rail.
(The groove (2) in the circular saw guide plate
slides in the profile (3) of the guide rail)
- Depending on the machine, gliding without play
can be set on the guide rail (see operating
instructions of the machine).
Diagonal cuts can be carried out in all angle
settings.
2.3
Rubber profile, non-slip and glide profile
Prior to attaching the slide lining, the adhesive
remains on the guide rail must be removed
completely (if required using solvent)!
See page 2, fig. C.
Rubber profile (FSS):
In new condition, the outside edge of the rubber
profile (6) protrudes slightly beyond the cutting track
of the circular saw blade. This protruding section is
cut off in the first cut. To avoid tearing, the rubber
profile (6) should lie completely on a support when
sawing. The edge of the rubber profile is then
cutting edge of the workpiece.
When changing the circular saw, it is usually
necessary to replace the rubber profile with a new
one. For easier insertion of the new rubber profile
(6) the front area can be pulled out from the guide
rail (about 2 - 3 cm) to permit a safe grip (see page
2, fig. G). If the insertion by hand is too difficult,
pliers can be used to pull the rubber profile. Since
the insertion can cause lengthening of the rubber
profile, we recommend to let the guide track rest for
a while before cutting off the protruding ends of the
rubber profile. Spare rubber profiles can be ordered
under order no. 6.29023.
Non-slip lining (FSH):
Replace non-slip lining (4) in case of damage or
strong wear. Replacements can be ordered under
order no. 6.29025
Slide lining (FSG):
Replace slide lining (5) in case of damage or strong
wear. Replacements can be ordered under order
no. 6.29024
2.4
Extending guide rail
See page 2, fig. D.
Using the connector (FSV) order no. 6.29022 2
guide rails can be joined.
Align the guide rails flush. Push connector into the
guide rail. Tighten the four cams in clockwise
direction using the tool provided.
2.5
Setting mitre guide (FSW)
See page 2, fig. A.
Undo the knurled screw at the bottom side of the
mitre guide. Insert mitre guide into T-groove (1). Set
desired angle and tighten knurled screws again by
hand.
Order no. 6.29026
3. Circular saws without guide
groove
KS 66, KSE 68 Plus:
See page 2, fig. E.
When the 2 adapter parts 6.31020 are fitted, the
above-described circular saws can be used as
described in chapter 2..
With the screws released, (7) the play, and thus the
sliding movement of the guide rail, can be adjusted
by shifting the adapter parts.
KS 54, KS 54 SP, KSE 55 Plus, KSA 18 LTX,
KSAP 18.:
See page 2, fig. F.
Guide plate 6.31019 must be used for this
application.
