Pendant Test Setup & Operation
1. Charge the pendant battery fully using the jack
or USB charging cable, before starting.
2. Check that all cables have been connected
properly (positive and negative cables and there
is no short).
3. Make sure the throttle switch is on the "IDLE"
position, the control panel is turned OFF and
the engine is OFF.
4. Plug the battery cable to the panel, see "Control
panel diagram" .
5. Turn ON the control panel. If either motor begins
to move unexpectedly, turn the panel back
"OFF" . If the problem persists, call Norwood/
authorized Norwood dealer or email at info@
norwoodsawmills.com to diagnose the issue.
6. Press the power sawhead or power feed switch
to activate the remote control.
7. Activate the throttle actuator by pressing the
throttle toggle switch up into the "FULL throttle"
position. If the throttle actuator moves in the
incorrect direction, not pulling on the throttle
cable, reverse the wires to the actuator motor.
Note, the "Full throttle" indicator should turn ON.
8. To release the throttle, press the throttle switch
into the "OFF" position. Note, the "Full throttle"
indicator should turn OFF.
9. Activate the vertical lift motor by pressing the
power sawhead lift toggle switch into the up
and down positions. Ensure that when standing
in front of the sawhead vertical motor (304),
the motor must always rotate clockwise when
raising the sawhead. If the sawhead moves
in the incorrect direction, reverse the wires to
the sawhead lift motor. Note, if the sawhead
doesn't move up or down, make sure the speed
controller is set to half speed.
10. Activate the drive motor by pressing the Power
Feed toggle switch into the left and right
positions. If the carriage moves in the incorrect
direction, reverse the wires to the carriage
motor. Note: If the carriage does not move
forward or backward, make sure the speed
control is set to half speed.

Note:
» If the throttle switch is on the full speed position
without any activity for more than 2 minutes, the
throttle will automatically switch back to idling.
To reactivate the throttle switch, it has to be
switched back to Idle and full speed position
again.
» If the pendant is idle for more than 10 minutes
it will be deactivated. To reactivate the pendant,
the power sawhead or power feed switches
must be flipped.
» If the panel has not received any signal or
activity for more then 20 minutes, the unit will
turn OFF. To reactive the unit the ON/OFF
switch on the control panel has to be switched
back to OFF and ON position.
» Always reduce the speed of the power feed
before proceeding with a cut or touching the
track end stops.
