CONNECTIONS
• Terminals:
- screw clamp for 220-240 V~ power supply
- spring for the remote push-button connections (voltage-free contact, ES1)
- push-in for the LAN connections (two 100 base-TX Ethernet channels, ES1) with maximum
conductor insulationØ 2.1 mm, 20-26 AWG.
• Cable section:
- for power supply: 0.5–0.75 mm
2
- for remote push-button connection: 0.5 mm
• Maximum connection length for the remote push-button: 20 m
• Ethernet cables:
- We recommend using CAT.5e or CAT.6 UTP cables.
- The Access Point has two independent Ethernet ports, each with the two pairs of
conductors needed to operate in 100base-TX mode (colours: green+white/green and
orange+white/orange).
- In the system, the conductors are wired in accordance with the T568B schematic (see the
CONNECTION EXAMPLE figure).
• Maximum Ethernet cable length: 100 m for each RJ45 output.
OPERATION
The device can provide the following types of operation:
1. WiFi Access Point. This configuration implements a WiFi network that starts from a wired
network connection.
2. WiFi network extension. This configuration extends the WiFi network coverage using the
access point as a signal "repeater"; in this case, it is necessary to set the home router SSID
and password in the device.
Note: In the event of variations to the router, change these settings on the Access Point first,
in order to avoid losing the WiFi radio connection.
3. LAN network extension. This configuration extends the wired network to an area that the
cable cannot reach directly. For this configuration, set device 1 to "WiFi Access Point" mode,
setting a different SSID and password from those of the main router, and set device 2 to
"LAN network extension" mode with the same SSID and password as device 1. If you want
to keep the same band available, filter the devices that can connect to device 1 by enabling
the MAC address filter for the permitted devices. It is possible to set the WiFi signal repeater.
When used to connect to the LAN, the ETH1 and ETH2 ports work as a switch.
Caution:
In general, when repeating the WiFi signal (on WiFi or LAN, such as in operation 2), functionality
not guaranteed for sources other than Vimar Access Points as the operating mode required is
not standard and could have different characteristics, depending on the manufacturer.
Front LED indicators
• LED on: WiFi radio active
• LED off: WiFi radio inactive
• LED flashing: reset in progress
• LED with sequence of two quick flashes - pause: radio WiFi programming in progress or no
Access Point connection (operation types 2 and 3)
• When the device powers up, the LED flashes briefly (the device takes approximately 30 s to start).
Front button and remote button
• Brief press: turns WiFi on or off (regardless of the operation type).
• Long press (at least 10 s) within 3 minutes from turning on the device: resets the device
configuration.
In the event of a restart (turning off and on due to a temporary loss of power), the last WiFi
state is restored; if it was set to off, the device restarts with WiFi off, and if it was set to on, the
device restarts with WiFi on. Reset restores the configuration to the default values set by Vimar.
Default configuration
• Default mode: Access Point
• IP Parameters: (Static IP192.168.1.225, NM: 255.255.255.0)
• Security type: WPA2 PSK
• Default SSID: VIMAR_AP
• WiFi access password: password
• Web access user: admin
• Web access password: admin
You can customise the default configuration by accessing the web at the default IP address
and entering you own credentials.
First configuration
To change the default configuration by entering the operating settings or network address that
you want and communicating with the Access Point via LAN or WiFi, the PC must be linked
to the same sub-network as the device, with an address such as 192.168.1.x. For all details,

INSTALLATION RULES
• Installation should be carried out by qualified staff in compliance with the current regulations
regarding the installation of electrical equipment in the country where the products are
installed.
• Switch off the mains power before installation.
• Install the device at a height of no more than 2 m.
• The power supply must be connected through an easily accessible double-pole switch with
a gap of at least 3 mm between contacts.
• The power supply units constitute a SELV source in observance of the requirements set out
in article 411.1.2.2 of the CEI 64-8 standard (ed. 2012).
• To prevent network interference, keep the power supply for active components and terminal
devices (PC, etc.) away from other utilities (e.g. radio, TV, etc.).
• To remove the remote push-button conductor from the terminal during maintenance, use a
tool to delicately press precisely in the corresponding position (see INSTALLATION fig. 7).

REACH (EU) Regulation no. 1907/2006 – Art.33. The product may contain traces of lead.
WEEE - Information for users
If the crossed-out bin symbol appears on the equipment or packaging, this means the product must not be included with other general
waste at the end of its working life. The user must take the worn product to a sorted waste center, or return it to the retailer when
purchasing a new one. Products for disposal can be consigned free of charge (without any new purchase obligation) to retailers with a
sales area of at least 400 m

, if they measure less than 25 cm. An efficient sorted waste collection for the environmentally friendly disposal
of the used device, or its subsequent recycling, helps avoid the potential negative effects on the environment and people's health, and
encourages the re-use and/or recycling of the construction materials.
