Descaling
Regular descaling:
■ prolongs the life of the appliance.
■ ensures that it functions properly.
■ avoids risk of injury, e.g. uncontrolled
pouring if filter is covered with limescale.
■ saves energy.
Descale the jug with vinegar or a commer-
cially available descaling agent.
■ Fill the jug up to the 1.7L (max) mark
with water without vinegar or descaling
agent and bring to the boil.
■ Then add a small amount of white
vinegar to the hot water and let the
kettle stand for several hours. You can
also use a descaling agent instead
according to the manufacturer's instruc-
tions (observe safety instructions).
■ Then rinse the jug and limescale filter
with clean water.
Tip: If you use the kettle daily, descale
more frequently.
Troubleshooting
The appliance does not heat, and the
O On/Off switch does not light up.
The overheating protection has tripped.
