Mounting of the poker to the drive unit (II)
Caution! The procedure described in this section must be carried out with the device disconnected from the power supply. Make
sure that the switch is in position – switched off and the battery is disconnected from the device.
Apply the tip of the fl exible poker line to the protruding part of the drive shaft of the drive unit.
Screw the threaded sleeve onto the thread of the drive unit. Check that the poker does not disconnect automatically during
operation.
Connection to power supply (III)
Slide the battery into the power socket until the battery latches engage. Make sure that the battery will not slide out on its own
during operation. The battery shall be disconnected by pressing the latch and then withdrawing the battery from the power unit
housing.
Only the following 18V Li-Ion YATO batteries can be used to power the tool: YT-82842, YT-82843, YT-82844 and YT-82845, which
can only be charged with YATO YT-82848 or YT-82849 chargers. It is forbidden to use other batteries with diff erent rated voltage
and not matching the tool's battery socket. It is forbidden to modify the socket or battery to make them match.
Switching on and off the drive unit (IV)
The drive unit must be held with both hands during operation. The device is turned on by pressing and holding the switch.
Releasing the pressure on the switch stops the operation of the drive unit.
The switch is equipped with a lock that allows the switch to be locked in the on position. In order to activate the lock, press and
hold the switch and then press and hold the lock button while releasing the switch.
Releasing the lock occurs when the switch is pressed.
Recommendations for the operation and operation of a concrete vibrator
The drive unit with the accompanying pokers shall always be carried by the drive unit and the pokers. Moving the product with the
loaded fl exible shaft of the pokers may lead to damage to the attachment.
The concrete must be poured into the mould or formwork in layers. The thickness of the layer shall not exceed 50 cm. It is
recommended that the thickness should be between 30 and 50 cm.
The product is intended for concrete mortar with a thickness of at least 10 cm.
The poker should always be inserted vertically into the mortar and kept in this position throughout the work. During the work, the
poker should be moved vertically. Do not move the poker immersed in concrete into a new place. It should be removed from the
concrete and introduced to a new place.
Do not use excessive force when immersing the poker in concrete. The poker might touch the rebars. If this is the case, move the
poker upwards and try to dip it again.
Avoid dipping too close to the walls or formwork. The poker must not come into contact with any obstacles during operation. A
distance of at least 7 cm from obstacles shall be maintained.
The work should be started with the lowest layers of concrete and gradually moved to higher.
The poker should be dipped at regular intervals over the entire surface of the concrete. The intervals should be between 8 and 10
times the diameter of the poker, i.e. between 20 and 25 cm for the poker supplied with the product.
The movement of the poker in the concrete should not be too fast. Only then will the concrete be able to properly seal the place
after the poker. The poker shall be moved at a speed of approximately 8 cm/s. Only when pulling the poker out of the concrete
shall the poker itself be carried out quickly so as not to disturb the surface of the concrete.
Care shall be taken to ensure that the vibrating poker is immersed in the concrete. Too short immersion will not lead to the release
of all air bubbles, too long immersion can lead to the separation of concrete components. The immersion time of the poker
depends on the type and density of concrete, as well as on the size of the poker. It should be between 5 and 15 seconds. The
shorter time should be applied to lower density concrete. The surface of the concrete around the poker shall be observed – if it
becomes dense and slightly shiny and a change in the sound of the vibrating poker shall be observed.
After removing the poker from the concrete, it shall not be kept vibrating for too long without immersion. It shall be immersed in
a new place or stopped by the drive unit. A poker vibrating for too long without load can overheat, which shortens its service life
and can also lead to damage.
If the mortar of concrete slabs vibrates, place the poker diagonally, this will increase the contact surface of the poker with concrete.
Caution! Concrete must not be frozen on a fl exible shaft or vibrating poker. Once the operation is complete, stop the operation
of the drive unit immediately, disconnect the battery from the drive unit. Dismantle the poker fl exible shaft from the drive unit and
then clean the poker and the poker fl exible shaft from the remains of the concrete. Frozen concrete may damage the fl exible shaft
and/or poker.
Product maintenance
Caution! All maintenance operations shall be carried out after the battery has been disconnected from the drive unit.
The poker and fl exible shaft shall be cleaned with water immediately after the work has been completed. Do not allow the concrete
