1 System Description
CAUTION!
Read the full operating manual and all safety warnings in the manual before using this in-
strument. The Gardner-scrub Abrasion Tester has moving parts which should never be
touched during operation.

Test Preparation
• Screw knob (1) into shaft and use spring (2) to pull shaft (3) out of the housing.
• Place bubble level in tray and level device with adjustable feet on the bottom.
• Affix the brush/sponge/pad holders to the carriage.
• Nuts on the holder should be fixed tightly secured to the bolts and the bolts move
freely through the holes in the carriage. Up to 3 standard brush holders may be used
at once.
• Insert prepared brushes/sponges/pads into holders.
• Make sure all parts are in place including the metal tray, glass plate, and test panel.
• Press the clamps down firmly onto the sides of the lily frame to hold everything in
place. If no lily frame is used, clamp the test panel directly at the sides close to the
edge of the metal tray.
• To release clamps, apply sideways pressure.
Instrument Start-up
• Connect the power supply.
• Turn on instrument with the power switch.
• Setup instrument by using the touch screen.
• Start procedure by pressing the "Start" button.
