07. Battery replacement
The basic function of the voltage checker is as a two-pole
voltage checker without battery power. Two micro batteries
(type AAA, included) are required in order to use additional
functions, such as measuring point illumination, rotary field
test, continuity check or 'single-pole' phase test.
Proceed as follows to insert / replace the batteries:
• Undo the screw on the battery compartment lid 12 with
a screwdriver and remove it.
• Insert two micro batteries (AAA) in the battery compart-
ment . When doing this, observe the polarities as shown
inside the battery compartment. Use alkaline batteries if
possible, as these guarantee longer operating time.
• Close the battery compartment and carefully tighten the
screw again.

The batteries must be replaced if the yellow indicator 8
does not light up or if no signal tone is heard when test tips
1 & 2 are connected together.
