The Hanimex flash unit will
fit
all cameras equipped with "Hot Shoe".

1.
Push the Battery Compartment Cover in direction of engraved arrow until resistance is
felt (i.e. about 2 mm).
2.
Using the thumb or finger of the other hand, swing the hinged cover open.
3.
Load two "AA" size batteries into the compartment. Observe the battery polarity and
close the cover.
4.
Flip the ON-OFF Switch to the red position: A humming sound will be heard, this is
normal.
5.
The Ready Lamp will turn on in a few seconds. The unit is now ready to flash.
6.
Press the test button. The flash will fire. This should be done twice in succession if the
flash has not been used for a few days. This will ''form" the capacitor.
7.
When the batteries are weak, the time for the Ready Lamp to turn on will be longer. If
the Ready Lamp fails to turn on after 30 seconds, replace the batteries.

MOUNTING ON CAMERA,
Camera with "Ho.t Shoe"
The flash unit has a "Hot Shoe" base and can be attached directly to a camera "Hot Shoe"
socket. This will hold the flash unit firmly in place and provide the electrical connection
between camera and flash.
EXPO~URE SETTING
1.
Refer to the Exposure Table printed on the back of the flash.
2.
The horizontal column shows distances in feet and meters. The vertical column specifies
film speeds in ISO and DIN measurement.
3.
Estimate the camera to subject distanc.e and locate the distance in horizontal column.
Locate the speed of the film you are using in vertical column. Where the 2 columns meet
will provide the appropriate lens aperture.
4.
Example:
If the film speed is ISO 100 (DIN 21) and the flash-to·subject distance is 12 feet
(3.7 m), the correct aperture is f/4.
5.
Wher. photograph,ng outdoors or in a large room or hall where there are no effective
reflecting surfaces nearby, it is necessary to set the camera lens at a wider aperture than
is indicated on the exposure table {1 or 2 f stops).

CAUTIONS IN HANDLING
1.
When the unit is not in use, always set the ON·OFF Switch at the "OFF" position (Black
Position).
2.
Rem,,ve the batteries from the unit when not in use tor a long period of time.
3,
Do not open or attempt to repair the flash unti. It contains high voltage circuitry and should
be serviced only by properly trained personnel.
