Notes relating to instructions
Read these instructions carefully before installing and starting up the device. The following
symbols are used in these instructions:

voltage
1. Safety notices
The device may only be installed by an electrician in accordance with the
corresponding circuit diagram in the operating instructions. The applicable safety
regulations should be observed.
Troubleshooting and fault rectification should only be carried out by an electrician.
• Only replace defective parts with genuine parts from the manufacturer.
• Operating in the vicinity of devices which do not comply with the EMC guidelines
may affect the device functions.
• After installation, the installation company should instruct the operator in how the
control system works and how to operate it.
2. Scope of delivery

3. Accessories
JZ-21 - Adapter frame for fitting the room thermostat on flush-mounted socket up to 80 x 80 mm
4. Application
This room thermostat was developed especially for controlling or monitoring temperatures
in offices, residential properties and hotels and is suitable for the direct connection of valve
actuators for hot water heating systems. Electric underfloor heating needs to be controlled
by an additional power contactor. Here, care must be taken to ensure that the output from
the heating cannot overheat the screed, even during continuous operation. A maximum of
10 de-energised closed valves may be connected to the heating output in hot water heating
systems. Where necessary, thermal cut-outs may also need to be installed. If used in other
areas not envisaged by the manufacturer, the safety specifications applicable to these areas
must be observed. For suitability for this, see Section 12. Warranty.
5. Function
The room thermostat has an internal sensor for recording room temperature and activates
the heating in accordance with the deviation from the set setpoint. In order to prevent
the valve seat from seizing due to corrosion during longer downtimes, the valve control is
activated once per week for 10 minutes and then deactivated for 10 minutes.

7. Mounting
The device is opened on delivery. Due to the limited wiring space, installation on a flush-
mounted socket is recommended. It may also, however, be installed on a level, non-
conductive subsurface. The closing of the device is described below.
The cover screw must be used during installation. The concealed ventilation slots
pointing to the wall must not be closed, since this will lead to defective control.
Only to be carried out by a
qualified electrician.

8. Electric connection
WARNING! Danger to life from electric voltage. The device may only be installed
by an electrician in accordance with the corresponding circuit diagram in the
operating instructions. The applicable safety regulations should be observed.
Troubleshooting and fault rectification should only be carried out by an electrician.
• Connect line voltage only to the terminals provided for this purpose.
Important
• Operating in the vicinity of devices which do not comply with the EMC
information
regulations may affect the device functions.
9. Operation
During normal operation, the display is deactivated. The current room temperature is
displayed when a button is touched. If a button is touched while this is displayed, the desired
temperature can be set in 1°C increments. The set temperature is applied automatically and
the current room temperature is displayed for 30 seconds.

10. Cleaning
The opened device must not be cleaned. Carefully remove dust and dirt from the housing
surface using a dry, solvent-free and soft cloth.
11. Disassembly
WARNING! Danger to life from electric voltage. The device may only be
removed by an electrician.
Before opening, de-energise the room thermostat and lock so device cannot be
switched on again (opening described below).
Disconnect the cabling for the switch output and supply voltage.
Remove room thermostat and dispose of correctly.
