Use
(1) Fitting the wall bracket
Wall Bracket and Integrated Battery
Charger.
• IMPORTANT!
Switch charger off at the wall socket
before connecting or disconnecting
the trimmer to the wall bracket. It is
recommended that the product is
charged in a well ventilated area
between 5°C and 25°C.
1. (1) It is recommended that the wail
bracket should be mounted on a
vertical and internal wall which is.
strong enough to hold the weight of the
product and that has a suitable electric
socket.
2. There are 3 holes on the wall bracket.
Position the wall bracket with the two
holes at the top.
3. (2) Ensure that when the trimmer is
attached to the bracket, the bottom of
the trimmer is within 4 inches (100 mm)
of the ground, this will make it easier to
hang the trimmer.
4. Fix wall bracket securely to the wall
with the plugs and screws provided.
5. Your 12RC can now be attached to the
wall bracket for charging.
Initial charging procedure and re¬
charging your12RC
• Keep your battery fully charged to
avoid permanent battery damage.
• Do not attempt to charge other
products with the charger from this
unit or use battery with any other
charger.
• Use only standard domestic electric
power when charging.
Initial Charging Procedure
• The battery should be charged for
24 hours before use.
1 .Use the charger indoors only.
2. Ensure the charger is not exposed to
moisture. Keep the charger and the
12RC dry at all times. Keep the
charger well ventilated during charging.

Ensure the 12RC is correctly
located into the wall bracket and the
charge connector (1A).
4. Plug the charger into a suitable
household electrical wall socket and
switch on.
5. The red indicator lamp glows
continuously during charging
6. Full charge will be achieved in 24
hours. During use the charger
becomes warm. This is normal and
means the charger is operating
correctly.
Re-Charging Your 12RC
• Re-charge your 12RC immediately
after every use for the full 24 hour
charging period.
1 .Re-charge the battery as soon as the
cutting power of your 12RC

begins to die and slow down.
2. Avoid running the 12RC into "deep"
discharge, i.e. avoid flattening the
battery completely.
3. Follow the procedure outlined in the
Initial Charging Procedure.
4.
The 12RC can be left connected to
the charger permanently, with the
charger switched on, without fear of
overcharging.
5. The charger will automatically keep the
battery topped up with charge during
storage and will ensure that the 12RC
is ready for use.
6. Charging the battery according to these
instructions should ensure maximum
battery life.
Starting and stopping
• (5) Avoid accidental starting. Keep
your hands and fingers away from
the switch lever (5B) while carrying
the trimmer.
• Nylon line continues to rotate after
the trimmer has been switched off.
Before Using Your 12RC
1 .Ensure the battery is fully charged.
2.(4) Adjust the steady handle to a
comfortable operating position, by
unscrewing the wing knob, springing
the side lugs apart, moving the handle
to the required position, carefully re¬
engaging the teeth and then tightening
the wing knob.
(5) To Start Your 12RC
1. Press lock-off button
(5A)
and squeeze
the switch lever
(5B).
2. Release the lock-off button
(5A).
To Stop Your 12RC
Release the switch lever
(5B).
• Automatic Safety Cut-Out
(5) An automatic safety cut-out is
provided inside your trimmer to protect
the motor from overloading.
If the trimmer stops, release the switch
lever
(5B)
and wait 30 seconds before
attempting to re-start the trimmer.
How the automatic line feed works
1 .A short length of new line is fed out
every time you start your trimmer, this
is caused by the cutting head
accelerating up to its full speed.
2. To feed more line, it is necessary to
stop your trimmer allow the motor to
stop and then restart. Do this
frequently when edging.
3. When line feeds you will hear the
change in the motor sound together
with the noise generated by the line
being cut to length.

How to trim and edge
• Always wear the eye protection
provided.
• Do not lean over the trimmer guard
whilst trimming or edging objects
may be thrown by the cutting line.
• Beware of cut-off pieces of nylon
line ejected during use.
• Nylon line continues to rotate after
the trimmer has been switched off.
• Do not allow the trimmer cutting
head to rest on the ground
How to Trim
1 .(6) Cut with nylon line at an angle using
the tip.
2. (7) Swing trimmer in and out of the
cutting area taking small cuts.
3. Line is fed out automatically every time
the trimmer stops rotating or returns to
operating speed.
How to Edge
1 .(8) To convert to edging mode, depress
locking button and twist head anti
clockwise until arrow lines up with
'EDGE'. An audible click will confirm
that the head is locked. Ensure button
has returned to its original position.
2. (9) Rest edger on roller for extra
stability and line up with the edge of the
lawn. Edge in direction indicated so
that debris is thrown away from you.
3. (10) To return to trimming mode
depress lock button and twist head
clockwise until arrow lines up with
'TRIM1. An audible click will confirm
that the head is locked. Ensure button
has returned to its original position.
Battery care and replacement
• Keep your battery fully charged to
avoid permanent battery damage.
• Dispose of old batteries safely.
• Do not cut open, burn or incinerate
old batteries.
Battery Care
1 .If over a period of time the battery quickly
runs down after a full 24 hour charging
period, a replacement battery is needed.
2. Contact your local approved service
centre/dealer/distributor for a
replacement battery and for safe
disposal of your old battery .

Bench Top Re-charging
The wall bracket can also be used as a
"bench top" stand for re-charging your
12RC.
Winter Storage
1 .Fully charge for 24 hours before winter
storage.
2.If you are unable to leave your 12RC
on permanent charge, re-charge the
battery every 3 to 4 months for a full 24
hour charging period to top up the
battery charge during winter storage.
