Before each use, inspect the entire product for damaged,
missing, or loose parts, such as screws, nuts, bolts, caps,
etc. Securely tighten all fasteners and caps and do not
operate this product until all missing or damaged parts
are replaced.
APPLICATIONS
The product may be used in rain.
You may use this product for trimming low and tall
hedges, shrubs and bushes and similar material with a
branch diameter of less than ø28 mm.
NOTICE:
The machine is to be used only for its prescribed
purposes. Any other use is deemed to be a case of
misuse.
REMOVING/INSTALLING THE BLADE SHEATH (Fig. F)
WARNING:
Always wear gloves when removing or
installing the blade sheath. Be careful with the blade and
protect your hands from being injured by the blade.
1. The hedge trimmer is shipped with the blade sheath
installed. Before use, slide the blade sheath off along
the blade ridge and remove it.
2. After using and before storing or transporting the
hedge trimmer, clean the blade and slide the blade
sheath onto the blade, cover the entire length of the
blade and make sure that the open side is facing
upward.
ATTACHING/DETACHING THE BATTERY
Use only with EGO's battery packs and chargers
listed in Fig.A2.

To Attach (Fig. G1)
Align the battery ribs with the mounting slots in the
machine battery port and slide the battery pack until it
snaps into position.
To Detach (Fig. G2)
Depress the battery-release button and the battery pack
will disengage from the latch.
WARNING:
Always be aware for the location of your
feet, children, or pets when pressing the battery-release
button. Serious injury could result in if the battery pack
falls. NEVER remove the battery pack at a high location.
HOLDING THE MACHINE
Hold the hedge trimmer with one hand on the rear handle
and with your other hand on the front handle or the
auxiliary handle (Fig. H1, H2).
WARNING:
Always keep both hands on the hedge
trimmer handles. Never hold shrubs with one hand and
operate the hedge trimmer with the other. Failure to heed
this warning may result in serious injury.
STARTING/STOPPING THE MACHINE
Before operating, remove the blade sheath and hold
the trimmer with both hands, one hand on the rear
handle and the other on the front handle. Then check for
balanced footing, upright standing and a proper cutting
distance. Make sure that the cutting blade is not touching
the ground or any other objects.
To Start (Fig. J)
1. Move the lock-off lever forward and then press the
trigger switch to start.
2. The further the trigger switch is depressed, the
greater the speed. Adjust the speed to suit the task at
hand.
NOTICE:
The motor starts only when the lock-off lever is
moved forward and the trigger switch is depressed at the
same time.
To Stop
Move the machine away from the cutting area and release
the trigger switch to stop it.
WARNING:
Always remove the battery pack from the
machine during work breaks and after finishing work.
