Intended Use
Air micro grinder kit powered by an air compressor, used for precision grinding, sanding, honing,
polishing or machining material (metal, plastic, wood etc). Utilises mounted grinding stones, rotary
rasps, surface conditioning pads and other sanding and grinding tools.
Not intended for commercial use.
The tool must ONLY be used for its intended purpose. Any use other than those mentioned in this
manual will be considered a case of misuse. The operator, and not the manufacturer, shall be liable
for any damage or injury resulting from such cases of misuse. The manufacturer shall not be liable
for any modifications made to the tool, nor for any damage resulting from such modifications.
Unpacking Your Tool
• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all features and
functions of it
• Ensure all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any parts are missing or
damaged, have such parts replaced before attempting to use this tool
Before Use
WARNING: Always disconnect the tool from the air supply before adjustment or maintenance
is carried out.
Recommended air supply
• This tool should be connected to a clean, dry air supply with inline oiler and water separator
• Do not allow supply pressure to exceed the maximum stated (see 'Specification')
• Ensure that water is drained from air system daily
• Ensure that all parts of the system (hoses, couplers, etc.) are correctly rated for the air pressure
to be used
Connecting the inline oiler & quick connector
Note: This tool is supplied with two different male airline quick connectors (Fig. II):
EQ-4 – commonly used in Europe
EN-6 – mainly used in the UK
If the air supply does not have an inline oiler, connect the supplied Inline Oiler (5) between the
Air Hose (6) and Quick Connector (4):
1. Apply some PTFE tape (not included) to the screw threads of the Quick Connector and Inline Oiler.
This will help to maintain an airtight seal
Note: Apply PTFE tape tightly and in a clockwise direction, so it does not come off when the thread
is screwed into the tool.
2. Connect the air inlet of the Air Hose to the female threaded connection on the Inline Oiler, and
the Quick Connector to the male threaded end of the Inline Oiler
3. On the Inline Oiler, unscrew the screw fixing to access the oil reservoir. Fill the reservoir with
air tool oil
IMPORTANT: DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE NORMAL ENGINE OIL.
4. Refit screw to re-seal the reservoir
• If the Inline Oiler is not required, connect the Quick Connector directly to the Air Hose air inlet.
8
WARNING: Do not attach the tool to a hose and the hose to a compressor with only threaded
connections. Always use quick connectors so the tool can be removed from the air supply
connection when needed for safe operation.
WARNING: Never fit a female quick connector directly to the leader hose/whip hose or directly
to the tool. The stored pressurised air in the tool, even when detached from the main air supply,
can operate the tool unexpectedly.
Fitting an accessory
WARNING: Always disconnect the tool from the air supply before installing/removing
accessories.
1. Insert the shank of the accessory as far into the Collet (2) as it will go
2. Tighten the Collet by hand, then fit the two supplied Collet Spanners (3): one on the Collet, the
other on the drive shaft (Image A)
3. Tighten the Collet so that the accessory is securely fixed in place. Pull on the end of the accessory
to check
4. To remove the grinding stone: loosen the Collet using the Collet Spanners and withdraw the
accessory
Operation
1. Connect tool to air supply and turn ON air supply
2. Hold the body of the machine with one hand, ensuring the grinder head is not in contact with
any object (Image B)
3. With the other hand, rotate barrel switch at the base of the Grinder (1) clockwise to the ON
position to start the grinder
Note: The barrel switch can be used to regulate the air flow and therefore the speed of the tool,
depending on the position of the switch between the OFF and ON position
4. Rotate barrel switch counter-clockwise to the OFF position to turn OFF the grinder
IMPORTANT: Never run the grinder without oil in the inline oiler.

• Accessories for this tool are available from your Silverline stockist
• Spare parts can be obtained from your Silverline dealer or toolsparesonline.com
Maintenance
WARNING: Always disconnect from the air supply and depressurise before cleaning or carrying
out any maintenance.
General inspection
• Regularly check that all the fixing screws are tight. They may vibrate loose over time.
Cleaning
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and
shorten the tool's service life. Clean the body of the tool with a soft brush or dry cloth
IMPORTANT: There is very little that can go wrong with your air tool, and it should be noted that
when an air tool fails to work it is generally because the internal workings have corroded due to
dirty, wet air and failure to follow the instructions given below.
Daily maintenance procedure:
If an inline lubricator is not fitted, the following maintenance procedure must be performed daily:
1. Disconnect from the air supply
2. Pour 3-4 drops of oil into the air intake
3. Operate the machine at low speed to thoroughly lubricate all internal workings
• If the machine is in constant use or used for long periods at a time, repeat the above procedure
up to 3 times per day
• Use air tool oil. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE NORMAL ENGINE OIL
• Failure to comply with the operating and maintenance instructions may invalidate the guarantee
Storage
• Store this tool carefully in a secure, dry place out of the reach of children
