INTENDED USE
This product (hereinafter referred to as "cast plate") is intended as an
addition for the fi replace shown in the illustrations.
The cast plate is intended for private use only. Any use or modifi cation
of the product other than that described in these instructions is
considered improper and may result in damage to property or even
personal injury.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by
improper use.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the following instructions carefully and
completely before you use the cast plate with
your höfats fi replace!
It is essential to follow the safety
instructions in the " General safety
instructions for fi replaces" manual, which
you received together with your höfats
fi replace! The booklet is marked with the
symbol shown here.
WARNING!
Danger of suffocation from packaging fi lm
and plastic parts!
Do not let children play with packaging
materials! There is a risk of suffocation!
ENAMELLED SURFACES
The enamel reacts sensitively to rapid changes in temperature.
• Never quench the hot cast plate with cold water and never place
the hot cast plate on cold surfaces.
Rapid temperature changes can lead to irreparable cracks in the
enamel.
• Always let the cast plate cool down slowly to avoid damaging the
enamel and the cast iron.
The enamel is sensitive to impact due to its high hardness.
• Never drop the cast plate. The enamel layer can crack or fl ake
off in the event of impact.
USING THE CAST PLATE
Unpack and check the scope of delivery
• Remove all packaging material from the cast plate!
• After unpacking, as well as before each use, check whether
the parts of the cast plate are damaged. If this is the case, do
not use the cast plate, but inform your dealer or contact höfats
directly.
Placing the cast plate on the fi replace
You can fi nd a description of the assembly
and the scope of delivery in the illustrations
in these instructions.
• Clean the cast plate before and after each use as described
under "Cleaning"!
Grilling with the cast iron plate
• Before grilling, the fi replace should be heated up and the
burning material should be allowed to glow for at least 30
minutes.
• Do not start grilling until the burning material is covered with
a light layer of ash.

WHILE GRILLING
• Always monitor the fi replace until it has cooled down completely.
CAUTION!
Keep the grill surface free of fl ammable
gases and liquids (e.g. fuel, alcohol, etc.)
and other fl ammable materials.
Protect yourself from sparks and hot
splashes of grease. We recommend wearing
a grilling apron to protect your clothing.
Do not extinguish a grease fi re with water!
Use a class A / B fi re extinguisher!
CLEANING
In order to care for the surfaces, the cast plate must be cleaned
regularly before and after each use:

Danger of burns from hot surfaces!
Let the cast plate cool down completely
before cleaning it.
• Do not use strong or abrasive solvents or abrasive pads. Do
not use any sharp or pointed objects to clean. Otherwise the
surface can be damaged.
• Remove loose debris with a wet sponge.
• Clean the cast plate with a mild detergent and water. Rinse
thoroughly with clean water and dry all surfaces well.
• For heavy soiling, we recommend using a standard oven and
grill cleaner.
STORAGE OF THE CAST PLATE
When you are no longer using the cast plate, store it in a dry and
well-ventilated place.
DISPOSAL
Disposing of packaging
All materials used are environmentally friendly and
recyclable. Dispose of the packaging in an
environmentally friendly manner. You can fi nd out
about current disposal methods from your dealer or
your local disposal facility.
Disposing of cast plate
At the end of its lifetime, the cast plate can be disposed of as
scrap metal. Inquire at your city or local authority about options
for environmentally friendly and appropriate disposal.
