5. Commissioning, operation

Only use original parts, see chapter 10 "Accessories and spare parts".
Check the instrument for any damage that may have been caused.
In the event of any damage, do not commission the instrument and contact the
manufacturer immediately.
5.1 Unpacking and commissioning

Remove the digital thermometer from the packaging and/or bag.
▶
Remove the protective foil from the display.
The batteries have already been inserted at the factory. The digital thermometer has
two buttons. These buttons are used to switch the thermometer on and off, and also to
access the individual menu functions.
If the digital thermometer is not used for a long time (one month or
longer), remove the batteries.

Physical injuries and damage to property and the environment
caused by hazardous media
Upon contact with hazardous media (e.g. oxygen, acetylene, flammable
or toxic substances) or harmful media (e.g. corrosive, toxic, carcinogenic,
radioactive), there is a danger of physical injuries and damage to
property and the environment.
Should a failure occur, hazardous media with extreme temperatures
(over 55 °C [131 °F]) may be present at the instrument.

For these media, in addition to all standard regulations, the
appropriate existing codes or regulations must also be followed.

Wear the requisite protective equipment, see chapter 2.4 "Personal
protective equipment".

When measuring, high temperatures (over 55 °C [131 °F]) can be

After measuring, let the instrument cool down sufficiently!
Do not leave empty batteries in the instrument.
