Neverusea matchor other flame to locate
a gas leak.

avoidspreadingthe flame. Extinguishflame
thenturnon hoodtoremovesmokeandodor.

Use pans with flat bottoms and handlesthat

unstable, warped, easily tipped or loose-
handledpans. Also avoid using pans, espe-

couldbe unstableandeasilytip. Pansthat are
heavyto movewhenfilledwith foodmay also
be hazardous.
Be sure utensil is large enough to properly
containfoodand avoid boilovers.Pan size is
particularlyimportantin deep fat frying. Be
sure pan will accommodatethe volume of
foodthat is to be addedas wellas the bubble
actionof fat.
Tominimizeburns, ignitionof flammablema-
terials and spillagedue to unintentional c on-
tact with the utensil, do not extend handles
over adjacentsurface burners.Always turn
pan handlestoward the side or back of the
appliance,not out into the roomwhere they
are easily hit or reachedby small children.
Neverlet a pan boil dry as thiscould damage
the utensiland the appliance.
