– To deactivate the Bluetooth® Low Energy Module, rotate
the button cell or place means of insulation between the
button cell and Bluetooth® Low Energy Module.
– Close the cover (10) to prevent dirt from getting in.
Practical Advice
With the Bluetooth® Low Energy Module GCY 42, the
u
power tool is equipped with a radio interface. Local
operating restrictions, e.g. in aircraft or hospitals,
must be observed.
In areas where the Bluetooth® wireless technology is
u
not allowed to be used, the Bluetooth® Low Energy
Module GCY 42 and the button cell must be removed.
Note: The cover (10) can only be securely closed if the
Bluetooth® Low Energy Module GCY 42 and the button cell
are situated in the power tool.
– To deactivate the Bluetooth® Low Energy Module
GCY 42, rotate the button cell or place means of insula-
tion between the button cell and Bluetooth® Low Energy
Module GCY 42.
– Close the cover (10) to prevent dirt from getting in.
Setting the drilling depth (see figure H)
You can use the depth stop (14) to set the required drilling
depth X.
– Press the button for depth stop adjustment (13) and in-
sert the depth stop into the auxiliary handle (15).
The fluting on the depth stop (14) must face downwards.
– Insert the SDS-plus application tool into the SDS-plus tool
holder (2) to the stop. Otherwise, the movability of the
SDS-plus drilling tool can lead to incorrect adjustment of
the drilling depth.
– Pull the depth stop far enough out that the distance
between the drill bit tip and the edge of the depth stop
corresponds to the required drilling depth X.
Changing the chiselling position (Vario-Lock)
You can lock the chisel in 44 different positions, so you can
select the optimum working position for each task.
– Insert the chisel into the tool holder.
– Turn the impact/mode selector switch (12) to the "Vario-
Lock" position.
– Turn the application tool to the required chisel position.
– Turn the impact/mode selector switch (12) to the "chis-
elling" position. With this, the tool holder is locked.
– Set the rotational direction for chiselling to clockwise.
Inserting screwdriver bits (see figure I)
Only apply the power tool to the screw/nut when the
u
tool is switched off. Rotating tool inserts can slip off.
A universal holder (22) with SDS-plus shank (accessory) is
required to work with screwdriver bits.
– Clean and lightly grease the insertion end of the shank.
– Insert the universal holder into the tool holder while turn-
ing it until it locks automatically.
– Check that it is locked by pulling the universal holder.
Bosch Power Tools
– Insert a screwdriver bit in the universal holder. Only use
screwdriver bits that fit the screw head.
– To remove the universal holder, slide the locking sleeve
(4) backwards and remove the universal holder (22)
from the tool holder.
Hanging up the power tool (see figure J)
You can use the utility hook (17) to attach the power tool to
a suitable suspension device.
– Fold the utility hook (17) upwards.
– Check the utility hook (17) for damage or deformation.
Do not use the utility hook (17) if it is damaged, de-
formed or no longer firmly secured to the power tool.
– Use the utility hook (17) to attach the power tool to a sus-
pension device.
To avoid damage or injury, the suspension device must
not be attached above walkways or immediate work
areas.
The utility hook is intended solely for the purpose of
hanging the power tool, including fitted accessories.
– Fold the utility hook (17) in again when you want to begin
work with the power tool.
Never use the utility hook (17) as a fall protection sys-
u
tem.
Never attach the fall protection system to the utility
hook.
Attaching the Fall Protection System (see figure K)
Note: A fall protection system (24) that is suitable for the
weight of the entire system should be used to prevent the
power tool from falling. The maximum permitted length of
the fall protection system is 1.8 m. Please always refer to the
permitted attachment area (23) on the power tool.
It is best to use the fall protection system with a tape loop se-
cured by an anchor knot or a fall protection system with fall
damper.
Please always refer to the operating instructions when at-
taching the fall protection system (24).
Always secure the opposite side of the fall protection
u
system to a stable structure (e.g. a building or scaf-
folding) and never to the user.
The fall protection system must be able to move freely
and may only be attached to the power tool at the
fixed anchorage point (25) and in the permitted at-
tachment area (23) .
Select the fixed anchorage point (25) such that the
power tool can fall freely into the fall protection sys-
tem without wrapping around or putting the user at
risk of harm in the event of a fall.
Never use the utility hook (17) as a fall protection sys-
tem.
Never attach the fall protection system to the utility
hook.
Never use the fall protection system on a power tool
which has been fitted with the GDE 18V-26 D or GDE
16 Plus dust extraction attachments.
