4.3 Protective case cap
Only use the Protective case cap included in the delivery.
Protective case caps that must not be used in hazardous areas are identified by the
number 14109396. Protective case caps for use in hazardous areas are appropriately
tested and the number is unrecognisable.

Protective case caps of Non-Ex equipment and Protective case caps of Ex equipment
must not be interchanged.
4.4 Transport and storage cases
The optionally available plastic cases are not approved for use within hazardous areas.
The cases must always be used and stored outside the hazardous area.
5. Special conditions for safe use (X-conditions)
Only use the battery models listed in this additional operating instructions, see chapter
4.2.1 "Approved batteries".
For use in category 1G (EPL Ga):
The housing consists of aluminium. The device shall be protected against

mechanical impact to avoid mechanically generated sparks.
The apparatus has to be installed in such a way that process-related electrostatic
■
charges, e.g. caused by media passing by, can be excluded.
For use in category 1/2G (EPL Ga/Gb):
The partition wall (membrane of the sensor) separating an area requiring EPL Ga
■
from a less hazardous area has a wall thickness < 0.2 mm for functional reasons.
In the application it has to be ensured, that an impairment of the partition wall, e.g. by
■
aggressive / corrosive media or mechanical hazards is excluded.
The process connection is a gas-tight standardised thread connection with an IP67
■
rating in accordance with EN/IEC 60529 between area requiring EPL Ga and the less
hazardous area.
The process connection thread shall be self-sealing or sealed by means of sealing
■
material in the thread or sealed by a flat gasket.
