Re-install t hedeck,makingsurethe belt remainsrouted aroundthe pulleys
asinstructed. The completebelt routingisshownin Figure 21.

Pullthe rightsideof the belt,andplacethe narrowVsideof the belt intothe
PT0 pulley.

Whileholdingthe belt andpulleytogether, r otatethe pulleyto the left.
Continue holdingandrotatingthe pulleyandbelt until the belt is fully rolled
intothe PT0pulley.

Tochange or replace the deckbelt onyourtractor,proceed asfollows:
Remove t he deckasinstructed e arlierinthissection.

Remove t he belt covers from thespindlepulleys byremoving the hexscrews
thatfastenthe covers to the deck.SeeFigure 21.

It mayalsobenecessary t o loosenthe hexnut onthe left deckidler pulleyto
get the beltoffthe pulleyandaroundthe belt guard.
3.
Carefully remove the deckbeltfrom aroundthetwo spindlepulleys andthe
two deckidler pulleys.SeeFigure 21.
4.
Toplacethe newbelt, beginbyroutingthe beltaroundthe two outerspindle
pulleys asshownin Figure 21.
5.
Thenroutethe belt around the two deckidler pulleys asshownin Figure 21.
6.
Retighten the belt keeper r odloosened earlier.
ParkingBrake Adjustment
Neverattempt to adjustthe brakeswhilethe engine isrunning. Always
[disengagePTO (BladeEngage Lever), m oveshift leverintoneutralposition,
[stop engine and remove keyto preventunintendedstarting.
Ifthe tractordoesnot cometo acompletestopwhenthe clutch-brake pedal i s
completely depressed, or if the tractor'srearwheels canroll with the parkingbrake
applied,the brakeisin needofadjustment.Contact t he nearest P arts& Repair
ServiceCenter to haveyourbrakes serviced.

Changing the Transmission Drive Belt
NOTE: Several components must be removed and special tools (i.e. air/
impact wrench) in order to change the tractor's drive belt. Contact the
