Safety guidelines
Please observe the following safety guidelines:
•
Read this guide completely and observe all instructions.
•
Do not make any modifications to the meter.
•
Do not use the device in highly inflammable or explosive environments.
•
Do not allow children to play with the device.
Inserting the batteries
•
Open the cover to the battery compartment on the underside of the meter.
•
Insert two 1.5 V batteries (AAA) into the battery compartment, taking note of the polarity shown.
Selecting the surface to be measured
•
Press and hold the POWER button to switch on the device. The basic setting is DRYWALL.
•
Press the MODE button to switch to CEMENT BOARD, SOFT WOOD and HARD WOOD.
•
To switch off the meter, press the POWER button once more for approx. one second.
Measurement
•
Hold the measuring surface against the flat surface of the object you wish to test (see the figure
below).
•
Wait until the humidity value stabilises.
•
Once the humidity content has exceeded the measuring range, "HH%" is shown on the screen.
•
Press the HOLD button to "freeze" the measured value on the screen.
•
The ambient temperature and humidity is also shown on the lower section of the screen. Using the
measured values, the device calculates a mildew index which is shown in the lower bar diagram.
•
Briefly press the SET button to switch the acoustic signal on or off. When the acoustic signal is
switched on, a warning signal sounds when the red range of the bar diagram is reached.
•
Press and hold the SET button to select the temperature unit (°C / °F).
•
If no button is pressed within 15 seconds, the screen goes dark and the device enters energy-saving
mode. After 2 minutes without a button being pressed, the device switches off automatically.
