TRAFFIC LIGHT PROGRAM SELECTION
This is selected by setting dip-switch DS1 as follows:
(DS1 -dip 4 "ON" - dip 5 "OFF" = program 1).
(DS1 -dip 4 "ON" - dip 5 "ON" = program 2).
Traffic light program 1 (see fig. 16)
The boom opens when the "TA1" command is given and only starts to
close after the loop "TC1" has been crossed. Crossing "TA2" will not
reopen the boom. Opening can however be achieved when "TA2" is
crossed as the programmer controls the traffic travel direction for the
boom.
Traffic light program 2 (see fig. 17)
This program can be used when the route has alternate one-way systems
and access to the route is controlled by two booms, one for each entrance.
The boom opens when the "TA1" command is given and closes after
the loop "TC1" has been crossed. The programmer indicates presence
on the one-way system by means of the AUX2 contact (binding posts
11,12 fig. 19) until the "TC2" loop is activated.
Notes:
• During the closing manoeuvre, which has been activated by crossing
the loop "TC1", the arrival of another vehicle on "TC1" will cause the
barrier to block. The warning lights will remain active indicating that
closing will continue once the vehicle has backed off.
• If a vehicle crosses or arrives on the opening loop while the route is
still occupied by another vehicle, nothing will happen. The boom can
only open once the first vehicle has crossed the final loop at the end
of the route.
• During boom closing, activating the TC1 input or the photocell
FTCI will cause a block (the warning lights will be continuously
lit) but not travel inversion. To finish closing you will have to
back up.
• To reset the traffic light sequence in case of anomalies press
the block button TB.
TRAFFIC QUEUE MANAGEMENT
This is selected by setting dip-switch DS1 as follows:
(DS1 -dip 1,4 "ON", and dip 2 ,5 "OFF".
This function mode is useful when there is a certain distance between
the TA1 opening command activation point and the barrier itself, where
the TC1 command is situated. A queue could form between the two
points and to speed up the traffic flow you may wish to avoid the clos-
ing of the barrier after each vehicle has passed. The control unit counts
how many opening commands have arrived and only closes the boom
after the last vehicle in the queue has passed. Activating the inverting
photocell during closing inverts the travel direction of the boom. Traffic
light management is as follows:
Initially AUX1/AUX2=open, the first TA1 command causes AUX1 to
close and to remain so until the queue has passed at this point it opens
again; AUX2 always remains open.
Pressing the blocking button TB will reset the counting mechanism: to
close the boom, if it is open, you will have to give an opening com
TA1 followed by a closing command TC1.
