Using your sewing machine
THREADING YOUR SEWING MACHINE:
1. Lower the presser foot (13) using the presser foot lever (23).
2. Raise the threaded spindle (1) by grasping the exposed top and pulling up until it is fully extended. Place the
spool of thread (2) on the thread spindle (1) as shown. When the thread supplied has run out, please replace
it with cotton or polyester thread.
3. Thread the machine as shown on diagram (steps 1 to 7). In step 2, make sure you insert the thread between
the two discs of the tension dial (10).
4. In step 6, slide the thread through the needle. Raise the needle to its highest point by turning the hand wheel
(5) and thread the needle from left to right. Slide the thread under the presser foot (13), between the forks and
to the rear of the machine.
Note: You can use the needle threader to help you to slide the thread.
THREADING MAIN UNIT USING SIDE BOBBIN:
1. Pull bobbin spindle (6) out from main unit.
2. Put the bobbin on the spindle, and put back into the bobbin holder (3).
3. Repeat the steps in the paragraph "THREADING YOUR SEWING MACHINE".
BOTTOM BOBBIN PLACEMENT:
1. Check that the bobbin (2) is well installed and that the thread is passed through the needle (see "THREADING
YOUR SEWING MACHINE"). Leave around 10 inches of thread out.
2. Remove the cover by sliding it in the direction indicated by the arrow.
3. Place the bobbin (15) in the bobbin holder (16), leaving about 5 inches of thread and put into the gap (14).
4. Turn the hand wheel (5) counterclockwise. he needle will go down and pick up the bobbin thread. Continue
turning until the needle is at its highest point.
5. Raise the presser foot and bring the sppol thread around to the front. Pull it gently up and you will see it has
caught the bobbin thread. Pull the two threads towards the rear of the machine.
6. Put back the cover of the compartment to close it.
Note: it is essential to thread both the top and the bottom properly. Check carefully and do one practice stitch
before beginning to sew. Improper threading will damage the lockstitch.
HOW TO SEW:
• Lift the presser foot (13) using the presser foot lever (23) located behind the sewing machine.
• Make sure the thread from the presser foot extends towards the back of the machine.
• Place the piece of fabric under the presser foot (13) and lower the presser foot lever (23). The piece of fabric has
to be well tightened and wedged.
• Sew a few stitches by turning the hand wheel (5) according to the direction of arrow.
• Press the foot pedal or the button ON/OFF (8) and start to sew normally.
• Move the piece of cloth on the sewing area according to the desired location of the stitches.
• When the line of stitching has been completed, release the foot pedal or press the button ON/OFF (8).
Note: Stop sewing before you reach the edge of the fabric.
Note: If your machine jams or the thread is stuck in the lower part of the sewing mechanism, gently turn the hand
wheel until the fabric or thread can be removed from the machine.
LOCKING THE STITCH:
To prevent the stitch from unraveling, you can lock the stitch by following these instructions:
• Pull a length of thread through the tension dial (10) to release the tension on the needle.
