Safety instructions for battery
packs
1) Safety instructions
a) Protect battery packs from water and mois-
ture!
b) Do not use faulty or deformed battery packs!
c) Do not open battery packs!
d) Do not short-circuit the contacts of the bat-
tery pack!
e) Keep battery packs out of the reach of chil-
dren!
f) Do not expose battery packs to fire or high
temperatures!
g) Warning: general danger!
h) Slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak from
defective Li-ion battery packs
i) If battery fluid leaks out and comes into con-
tact with your skin, rinse immediately with
plenty of water. If battery fluid comes into con-
tact with your eyes, wash them out with clean
water and seek medical attention immediately!
j) Transporting Li-ion battery packs: The ship-
ping of Li-ion battery packs is subject to laws
relating to the carriage of hazardous goods (UN
3480 and UN 3481). Inform yourself of the cur-
rently valid specifications when shipping Li-ion
battery packs. If necessary, consult your freight
forwarder.
2) Intended use
a) The battery packs are designed for use in
corresponding Novus battery-operated power
tools. They must only be charged using Novus
chargers. 18V battery packs marked CAS are
100% compatible with 18V CAS (Cordless Alli-
ance System) devices. To select the appropri-
ate device please contact your dealer. Read the
relevant operating instructions for the devices
