Connect the external sound source to the master unit input jack (see Figure 1 - pg.2). There are three possibilities to do this:
Preferably use the sound system's LINE OUT. This output provides a constant signal which is independent of the system's
volume control. You will need a Ref. 172 02 cable (3.5 stereo jack to 2 RCA-male).
In portable systems with no LINE OUT (Walkman devices, portable stereos, etc.) the headphone output can be used.
Because the system's output volume affects the headphone output, adjust the headphone volume and the sound input
volume control to obtain an optimal signal level. You will need a Ref. 172 03 cable (3.5 stereo jack to 3.5 stereo jack).
In systems having a TAPE output (Hi-Fi systems, etc.) the sound input can be interspersed between the tape recorder and
the sound system's amplifier. Connect to the REC OUT output as seen in Figure 1. You will need a Ref. 172 02 cable (3.5
stereo jack to 2 RCA-male) and two Ref. 172 04 adapters (RCA-male to 2 RCA-female)
If you would like the sound source's power supply to be remotely controlled by the master unit, connect the power supply to the
TELECONTROL SOCKET.
switched off and will also cut back on the installation's consumption.
Activate the sound system and adjust the signal level with the LEVEL potentiometer. When the LED flashes lightly with the input
signal level, the level is correct. If the LED stays lit, the level is too high and distortion will most likely be heard in the signal. If, on the
other hand, the LED indicator stays dark, the level is too low and the signal will not be heard correctly through the regulators.
Activate power supply to the regulators by turning the POWER switch to position "1".
The ON/OFF key of any of the installation's regulators switches the regulator on and off. The green LED indicates if the regulator is
switched on or off.
Use the +/- keys to control the signal's volume. Once the maximum or minimum volume is reached, the LED stops flashing.
This will make the sound source switch off automatically when all the installation's regulators are
