6.2. Battery operation – inserting/replacing the bat-
teries in the device
 The battery compartment is located on the underside of the device.
 Release both latches and remove the battery compartment cover.
 Insert six 1.5 V R14/LR14/C batteries (not supplied) with the negative ends on the
springs. Refer to the diagram in the battery compartment!
 Replace the battery compartment cover. The latches must be locked into place.
 The device is battery-operated if no mains cable is connected to the A C I N .
 The device is now in standby mode.
WARNING!
Risk of explosion if batteries are replaced incorrectly.
Replace batteries only with the same or equivalent
type.
6.3. Mains operation – connecting the mains cable
 Connect the supplied mains cable to the A C ~ socket on the back of the device.
 Plug the mains cable into an easily accessible 100-240 V~, 50/60 Hz mains socket.
The device is mains-operated even if batteries are inserted at the same time.
7. Switching on the device/standby
 Press the
button to switch on the device. The display lights up.
 To switch the device back to standby mode, press and hold the
