USE
POSITIONING
1.
Keep the kettle, the power base, and the supply cord away from hotplates,
hobs or burners.
2.
Place the kettle and its base towards the back of the working surface.
3.
Do not allow the mains lead to hang over the edge of the table or work
surface, or anywhere it may be accidentally caught or tripped over.
FILLING
1.
Remove the kettle from the power base and fill with water between the MIN
& MAX markings.
IMPORTANT:
2.
DO NOT OVERFILL OR UNDER-FILL THE KETTLE. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling
water may be ejected. If under-filled, the kettle may run dry while operating.
3.
Place the kettle on the base and ensure the lid is firmly closed.
OPERATING THE KETTLE
1.
Making sure the kettle switch is in the 'off' position, plug the power base into
the wall socket.
2.
After filling the kettle and carefully positioning it on the base (without spilling),
press the kettle switch up. A light should come on to indicate the kettle is ON.
3.
When the kettle has completed boiling the water the kettle switch will return
to its original position and the light should go out (indicating the kettle is OFF).
4.
To stop the kettle early during use, simply push the kettle switch back into its
original position.
SAFETY DEVICES
1.
The kettle is fitted with an ON/OFF switch which automatically switches off
once the water has boiled. Do not hold the ON/OFF switch in the ON
position.
2.
If the kettle is switched ON with too little water, or no water, it is protected
against damage by a safety cut-out which will switch off the power.
If the cut-out operates, disconnect the kettle from the mains supply and
leave to cool down before refilling with cold water.
CARE
Misuse such as overfilling the kettle, allowing excessive scale build-up, and boiling with
water below the MIN mark will reduce the life of the element and product.
CLEANING
1.
Turn off and unplug the kettle and power base.
2.
To clean make sure the kettle is empty and, before continuing, ensure the
kettle has completely cooled.
3.
Using a soft, damp cloth and detergent (if necessary) wipe down the kettle.
4.
Make sure all connectors, sockets and switches are kept dry.
5.
DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE PRODUCT IN WATER OR ANY OTHER
LIQUID.
6.
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners as these can damage the product
surfaces.
Do not over-extend the lid.
